Looking forward to seeing it in person. I know it’s going to be beautiful but more importantly you will be much more comfortable with the recliners and I bet it will give a much more open look.

My wife wanted to inspect the progress in daylight, so I took a picture while we were there

Can aluminum be wielded? My thinking is that if it can you might be able to wield those seems. Just a thought.

2017 Classic Front Conversion
Aluminum can be welded, but not these thin sheets, I have a good friend now retired as a welder. We talked about welding aluminum and he did work for me on the aluminum frames on some of golf cars, but he said that thin material just does not take the heat. Plus most of what is seen will be hidden by the recliners. My main goal was protection of the fins

It looks absolutely fantastic. Adding those rivets did the trick. This is meant as a compliment but it looks like it’s always been there right from the factory.

Thanks Al, still waiting on the chairs from the manufacturer. Takes a while as we are matching the color and fabric on the dinette in this Classic. The last picture I posted has all new Alde covers to protect the pipes. Laurie Kendrick is to blame for this additional work, but I like it for the first time. Laurie asked if the panels could be welded, although I can weld I can't do Aluminum and a friend who welded as a career said these panels are just too thin to work well, So, I took the others off, purchased three 2' x12" panels for each side and riveted them together, then cut the end of one to fit by the end table. I also undid the factory installed Alde covers at the end where mine meet the factory and riveted those together. Should actually make the heating system much more efficient as well, although it's been great so far.
Bud
