2017 Classic Floor Squeaking, Anyone else?

Just noticed the other day the floor is not happy. It's squeaking in a 3 foot long area between the Shower and Bathroom.

We're extremely diligent making sure no water is released through the door while using the shower and use the "navy" shower method, so I'm 99.3% convinced it's not from that? We also use a runner on top of the factory floor, and also a Bath Mat outside the shower while in use.

I can't feel any moisture on the Flooring itself.

Is it a possible moisture issue underneath, bad fabrication, or other?

Any ideas, or experiences here? We're kinda bummed out right now, as we love this trailer!

Thanks, Paul and Nancy

Does that area of the floor have any bounce to it? Squeaky floors are usually a bowed part of the floor rubbing up and down a not fully seated screw or nail. Unfortunately you would need to raise the woven flooring up to put more fasteners in.

I have it as well on my 2017 classic. Right now I am choosing to simply live with it unless the situation worsens.

It may be a floor squeak against the frame. Also could be floor squeak against the walls/cabinet bases. I have occasional squeaks in my 2015 Classic. Comes and goes.

Wouldn't this be a warranty item?

My 2014 fc28 is squeaking right at foot of Queen bed. Was at the mother ship not long ago and the said the belly pan would need to be dropped in order to tighten. I passed.

We had a squeaky floor by kitchen cabinets it was because the cabinet screw had unseated. Tightened up and everything quiet.

Our AS has had a floor squeak in the kitchen area since we bought it new in 2001. Seems to come and go with changing seasons and it's most noticeable this time of the year when temps are cooler and it's damp. It has not gotten any worse over the years and I've grown to think of it as character.

Our 2017 27FB has numerous floor squeeks. They all appear to be where sections of the subfloor meet (running from side to side). Very disappointing.

Squeaking floor

Gunnrack, had same problem in our FC 28. Tech at JC said it was from floor rubbing up against inside bathroom wall. He sprayed WD40 along the molding and it solved the problem.

The flooring on the newer Airstreams needs to shrink and expand with temperature, you might say it needs to float. If the molding is tight it will cause the squeaking as the floor tries to move. This is why the WD40 spray along the molding solved this problem. Our 2014 37FB has squeaking floors in the bedroom, I let it go. We have old hardwood floors in our home that also squeak so I'm just use to it. I guess.

Squeaks!

You wanna hear squeaks?? Come visit me at my 1910 house and I'll let you hear squeaks!

Which is to say, I'm not sure I'd even notice them in the AS!

Have squeaky floor in 1 week oldFC 25 in front of kitchen cabinets. It makes me crazy. Do I spray WD 40 on top side of molding?

My 2017 FC started squeaking around refrige. I talked with service dept where I bought it. They were aware of this prob and said they could fix under warranty. I brought it in, took several days, they had to drop fresh water tank and shim floor at sides. That fixed it

Squeaking Floor

Our 2015 28 rear bed FC had a squeak at the foot of the bed next to the wall. Dealer fixed it under warranty. Simply lifted the vinyl next to the wall in the area of the squeak and tightened some screws underneath. He said it was an easy fix and so far he is right. End of problem.

Yes in my 2016 FC19. Too it to dealer and my understanding of what they said is that sometimes the subfloor does not extend far enought to the frame exterior edge thus leaving a soft spot resulting in a squeak. They repaired it by gutting the bathroom. Taking out the BW tank and welding som add'l angle iron to the fram for additional support. That is my understanding anyway.

We have 2016 30Serenity. Our floor sqeeks in the front living area. Guess we need to take it in under warranty.

For most floor squeaks in newer trailers the solution is often simple. Our dealer sprayed silicone along the floor where the rubber/plastic molding meets the floor and wall. Voila! Reapply as necessary although we had to reapply only once in the last year. It really was this easy!

Our 28 had same area squeak. At JC, a technician sprayed some silicon along the floor molding along the bathroom wall and squeak disappeared. Apparently the squeak is the wall rubbing against the floor.
