2016 floor

I looked around to make sure this is not a common question, how do you clean the 2016 flooring. I have a shark vacuum works great, but was thing about getting a steam mop for a good wash down. Anyone using one?

Thanks

Meschelle

The flooring is a high end woven vinyl. I, too, have a steam mop -- and until your post had never thought about a "deep clean" for the floor. My '15 has had a LOT of travel and a LOT of traffic and the flooring looks brand new (on the surface). I use a Dyson stick vacuum on it and while I wondered if stuff would get stuck in it due to the design, it really hasn't. A lot of hot steam on vinyl might not be a good idea, but a quick pass shouldn't do it any harm. Think I'll give at a try UNDER the dinette table first. Will try it out next week when I get back from the Blue Ridge Mountains. My grandson is guaranteed to track in plenty of campground dirt over the weekend! Will post my results.

If you have the Beaufloor vinyl flooring as I do in my 2016 Classic, I refer to the document Airstream has on their website. It has sections on maintenance and preventative action. Here's the link if you don't already have this document:

Woven flooring

The flooring we have in our 2016 Classic is woven and doesn't seem to be the Beautifloor.

So far we've been lucky and have needed only to vacuum. But the post about using a steam cleaner occasionally seemed like a good idea.

The flooring used in the 2016 Classic is the Infinity Luxury Woven Vinyl and the style is Raffia.

Perhaps the website can give you more details on cleaning.

Ron

Be careful with heat around the flooring. I Dremel'd the end of a bolt off and it fell on the floor. It was hot enough it made a little melt mark in the flooring...

2016 floor

Sometimes I semi-seriously think a sloped floor with a drain in the center would make sense. Drain all the assorted hard to find leaks out safely, easy to clean, no issue with male dogs marking it, etc.

We bought 2 runner rugs from Costco, shake them often, and vacuum.

We have 3 runners (26"w x 7' long). One across the trailer in front of the sofa, and two that go down the center of the trailer. We use a high powered Dyson stick vacuum on them (which also does a good job on the floor). Clean-up is pretty easy, but to be frank, I don't much like the feeling of the standard floor on bare feet. It'd be fine on a boat where slippery would be bad (which is what the flooring was actually designed for). Having a nice cushy runner is a lot more comfortable...and it also absorbs the noise of the two basset hounds as they trot from the bedroom to the galley....always looking for food!
