2016 AS Classic Zip Dee Bent Patio Awning Roller Tube

While boondocking in the Utah mountains, my wife and I left our Airstream to do some hiking. Before leaving, I stowed the patio awning, BUT DID NOT LOCK IT DOWN. High winds hit our camp and sucked the awning away from the trailer and bent the roller tube.

After having the roller tube replaced, there seems to be a problem with the fit. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem. The Awning Travel Latch is out of alignment and will not latch. It seems like the 3” roller tube diameter is too small. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what was the fix?

Hard to tell your problem from that photo but on mine, I have to pull the awning down just a couple of millimeters or so the get the hook into the loop. It looks like you may need to do the same. The hook and loop seem to be aligned otherwise.

Thank you for the reply.

I believe mine might be too far down now.

I’d just move that latch over 1/2 inch

What did the installers say about the misalignment?
