Funny, the ad says "no scent". I think it smells pretty good as well.

You beat me to it. Almost all of the regular swing-out escape windows are so stuck that they are impossible to open in good conditions let alone in an emergency.

Try it.

Use a wax-based teflon-impregnated dry lubricant. We apply this with a rag and it lasts about 2 years, and no film gets onto the glass:

Someone also told me olive oil is the only thing that works. I have not tried it.

We bought this tool and it has worked great when they stick. I use the thinner end and it is quick and easy.

To treat the rubber I've been using Slide Lub. I just applied it before our last trip and all the windows opened up easily. Time will tell how effective it is once we go on one of our extended summer trips.

To pry a stuck window I have this kit in the trailer
PITTSBURGH AUTOMOTIVE
Nylon Pry Bar Installer Kit, 4 Pc.
from Harbor Freight. Keys, screwdrivers, credit cards will work but be careful of tearing the rubber.
Try this.👍

I've always used a high quality silicone grease on automotive door and window gaskets.

I just read the Airstream Flying Cloud manual and it tells us what to do in case it happens. There is a preventive maintenance for that, also. 303 Aerospace Protectant is what Airstream recommend.

Urge that you don't use any lubricant - such as gasoline or similar - as it will only collect dirt. And, some solvents will damage the rubber. Clean the seals and the glass, and install a set of WindowPoppers - you'll never have to go outside the trailer to open your windows again! You can get them from www.seeyoudowntheroad.com

Why buy something when proper maintenance will assure proper function.
Plus, when they break you'll just have a hole in the window frame or dried weatherstrip stuck to the window from forced opening.
"Cloudsplitter" 18yrs and sticking window free.

Over the years, I have had two Airstreams with the top-hinged windows. I have simply drilled a 1/4' hole in bottom of the window screen frame. Then I use a piece of wooden dowel to push the window glass free from the rubber weather strip. It works from the inside (you can do this without getting dressed to go outside) and it does not cost anything.

Because like many things we buy to improve our experiences with our trailer, window poppers just work. Never had a window popper break but have had windows stick even with “proper maintenance.”

Interesting ideas. When my trailer was new, I used to slightly dampen a small area of a paper towel with silicone spray. I then wiped down each window gasket and allowed it to dry. I’d did this about twice a year when I noticed the windows just beginning to slightly show some adhesion to the gaskets. Over the years the tendency of the windows diminished and I think the gaskets get a fine coating of dust which stops then from sticking. I think it’s been at least 10 years or so since I’ve had to do this.

My Classic has been stored inside for 15 of its 17 years of life. Maybe not sitting outside has also provided a positive effect. 303 is a good product and has no petroleum components that some other products use.

Or maybe, your 'proper' is not the same as my 'proper'.
