Top door lock...doesn't move

I tried posting on the technical forum about doors but I'm guessing I would get a wider audience here.

Visited our 2016 25FB today at the storage lot...not close to home.

Luckily I unlocked the top lock...very stiff movement of key.

After that the key would not even move. I could lock unlock using the inside slide lock but the key...wouldn't budge...and I didn't force it.

I have done the search of this topic. I found fixes for 'escaping' when the handle doesn't work. I found fixes for the pressed on handle. I found 'add-on' door handles so not to use the pressed on version.

Is mine a common occurrence?
Has someone experienced this already? Help please...Thank YOU.

I am going to start with lube spray and then on to deconstruction. I'll add to fixes I found during my search.

Thanks for ALL the help. Really appreciate it.
I took it apart. Added the handle and removed the lock. It was full of dirt which I am guessing blocked the lock mechanism. I blew it clean and added some WD40.

We use a spay can of white grease for both top and bottom locks. Just a little but 2-3 times a year. Otherwise the locks get real stiff.

Does the grease collect even more dirt?

No.
Grease is your friend.
Spray on white grease just a little.

I have had luck with spray silicone. Works great and does not build up or hold dirt or dust.

Graphite spay is also excellent for locks and the solvent sweeps out the dirt and grime, just like the silicone solvent.

Well the point is to lubricate the darn thing with your favorite stuff.
