Soon to be owners of a new International Serenity 25fb. How to get it home?
Tomorrow morning my wife and I will be signing docs. to complete the purchase of our new 2019 Serenity 25fb. We are over the top excited! But here’s the dilemma.
We are actually trading in our 2018 Airstream Interstate. (Please don’t judge.) We drove it from our home in Ohio to Airstream of Virginia to make the trade. (Wonderful experience here so far.) The equity of the Interstate over and above the cost of the Serenity will go as partial payment towards our new TV. So until we receive the funds from the trade and then go truck shopping, we don’t have a way to get our new Airstream home to Ohio. Any ideas?
I have considered putting this out there on U-ship.com but am a bit hesitant based on some reviews I’ve read online.
Also, we actually live close to the plant in Jackson Center Ohio so I’ve tried to contact the company that pulls the Airstreams to the dealer thinking it would be rather convenient for them to drop one at the dealer then bring one back to Ohio. Unfortunately, they will not return my calls.
I realize that this is a bit out of the ordinary. But has anyone had any experience hiring someone to transport your Airstream?
Thanks for any advice!

I would leave the new Airstream right where it is, until you acquire your tow vehicle. Many dealers will allow upon request, about 6-8 weeks before final pickup. We did this at Colonial Airstream.
Made the purchase, ordered a Propride hitch for delivery to Colonial, then took all our paperwork and went back to Texas for Trailer registration + plates, and also to pickup our tow vehicle. Returning six weeks later to Colonial, we then picked up our new Airstream with the Propride hitch installed, made some final adjustments to hitch, and we were gone.

Hi Martee. Thanks for the advise. That is currently our favorite option. I’ve already discussed keeping the trailer at the dealer and they are fine with that. Plus, I like that they can help tweak the hitch set up.

I concur. When we purchased our new Airstream last year at Airstream Adventures NW, we didn’t own a TV (or even a place to store it). The dealer remarked that this was a typical situation, and they allowed us the time we needed to make arrangements, which took us five weeks. However, you may want to purchase insurance in advance once the sale is finalized.
