New bathroom faucet install?

HI thank you to all that respond.

2016 25FB International

Bought a new faucet with more distance from single hole to water coming out of spigot......better to get your hands under.

Seems simple to trade out.

But when I started to unscrew the water lines.....there was water pressure. Quickly stopped.
I do NOT have water line hooked to shore water NOR do I have the pump on.

I DID prior but not for a full day now.

Is this just residual pressure? I released some water from the kitchen faucet.

Should I expect more water when I undo the bathroom water lines?

Is there a lower (than bathroom sink) valve I can drain the system?

Thank you.

You should be fine now the pressure is relieved but you can also open low point drains to drain the interior plumbing first. Check your manual for location. They drain beneath the trailer.

Look underneath your trailer. Wherever you see tubes sticking out, look in the same spot inside the trailer. There will be valves to open.

Here is your manual: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...aGBeUtEeMFMQD_

Hi, check by your water pump; You might have an accumulator tank. This keeps some pressure in the lines. Helps keep the water pump quiet.

I would like to replace ours. What faucet did you purchase?

A link to the item would be most helpful as opposed to a description.

Would like to hear of any other issues you may encounter doing the replacement.

Release pressure.

I just replaced our bathroom sink faucet and I opened the outdoor shower faucets to release the pressure. I have a 22FB and the outdoor shower is lower than the bath fixture so it worked well.

Cheers,

Jim

Just replaced the Moen w/a like Moen from Lowes. Turned off pump, drained the pressure off. I found it helpful to remove the sink for easy access, plus I got to reseal the sink. Everything went well! 2007 25' Safari.

Next problem.

How to connect the 3/8" female connector on the new faucet to the ? sized female of the AS plumbing?

I tried the local hardware store. Seems the AS plumbing is NOT standard.

I need a male/male connector...but what size? male 3/8" to ?

It should be standard size plumbing fittings, take what came off the AS to the store, the water heater can trap air therefore causing the pressure, this is a good sign means there are no leeks. Once you bleed off the pressure just put an old towel down to catch the remaining water there won’t be much.

Nope its not.

Took AS faucet to HW store. NON-standard fitting.

Got a SharkBite valve for PEX to 3/8" faucet connector.

Now SharkBite leaks at PEX...only one...one is good.

well welcome to the club...seems nothing is easy on a camper.....as you will find, we are not fans of sharkbite fittings.....because they leak often....I would encourage you to take your non standard tubing to a plumbing supply store, not home depot or lowes....the guys that know about plumbing will be able to identify your product.....
....having said that, my Airstream has all pex plumbing, but it is the pex that only comes from home depot....it seems home depot made arrangements to have a product manufactured just for them.....but I got that info from a guy at a real plumbing supply house.....smh

Thanks all. I installed the SharkBite fittings/valves. I'll keep an eye on them.

I’ve had no issues using PEX and fittings from the big box stores both Lowe’s and Home Depot.

I don’t use sharkbite fittings in the Airstream’s plumbing system for permanent repairs. I figure their o-rings won’t last. And I’d rather not have to worry about them.

I do use the brass fittings instead of the cheaper plastic ones. A few cents more per fitting is worth the peace of mind.
