DVD or Blu-Ray

When I pick up my International Serenity Mid March, does anyone know if it is a "standard" DVD player or a Blu-ray player?

If it is DVD it will need to be tossed for a Blu-Ray or a down sampling 4K player......

Does anyone know which it comes with or changed it out?

Anyone recommend a direct replacement if it is a DVD player?

Thanks,
Chris

It would be a Samsung. That’s what Airstream uses. TV will also be Samsung.

The model that came with my 2019 International Signature was Samsung BD-D5300. It supports Blu-ray, DVD, and CD music discs.

DVD/Blue Ray

Just bought a 2018 16ft bambi. Apparently the DVD will not play blue ray DVD’s.
Any suggestions on a replacement?
Am I missing something.
It’s only 2 years old and won’t play Blue Ray??

With the newer encryption on some of the discs, blu-ray calls home to update the public and private keys to decode the disc. If the player doesn't have internet access to do this, then the disc will not play.

My advise is to try a few different blu-ray discs to see if ANY of them play.

Can you take a picture and post here so we can see what unit you may have in it.

Hi.
Thanks for responding.
None of my Blue Ray DVD’s work on my unit.
Attached is a pic.

Is there a replacement unit available?

I searched the manual on Google and I don't see any blu-ray information.

What I'm finding is there aren't many any single DIN car stereos with BluRay. There are BluRay players without AM-FM, and Radio/CD/DVD, but not BluRay.
Or there are Blu ray players that aren't single DIN space mount.

I did find two units, both played BluRay but not radio.
Without going crazy, I think you're going to be adding a home type BluRay player and some type of a HDMI switch.
Or learn to love DVD.

That radio does NOT support Blu-ray, DVD only.

You'll need to find a single DIN unit that plays Blu-ray and replace it if you want to play Blu-ray media.

BTW, my 2017 26' has a radio unit and a separate disc player.
You don't have a stand alone DVD player?
Sorry for being Captain Obvious, but I had to ask.

Everything I read on the International Serenity lists a BluRay player.....possibly built into the LG TV? Side slot?

I have the same model and wanted to replace mine. Finally got around to shopping and as someone else mentioned, single DIN blu ray units don’t seem to be in existence, or at least not without losing all radio functionality. I might be able to live with that, but was also hoping to get a unit with satellite radio. Hmmm, can’t believe it’s so difficult, no such thing as easy upgrades with these things.

2014 Serenity 28 Blue Ray

I had thought it was a simple sign of its build era. The blue ray player was HDMI connected to the fore and aft TV's via a splitter. The sound system was however not, despite the close proximity (I thought that being decidedly odd). The manual for the sound system (a car stereo) did however offer bluetooth and went to great lengths describing the recently discontinued iPod connectivity. Ohho thinks I, and sure enough while not inexpensive I found a Sony that did offer bluetooth output for external headphones or speakers. It was essentially the same form factor as the 2014 unit and slipped right in. Sure enough it was dead simple to to enable the connection between them and Bob's your Uncle... It had in addition two streaming services via wifi that I use (Netflix / Amazon Prime) & Pandora on occasion.... SONY BDP-S6700. It does *not* however seem to offer the ability like a Amazon Firestick to add apps or services on the fly. All in all I am pleased with the utility and certainly the ease to utilize the decent sound improvement...
