Battery compartment re-cabling

Looking to re-wire the battery compartment, since AS did a terrible job with cable management, making it difficult to maintain proper water levels. Has anyone done this? What is the gauge cable and were did you purchase longer cables?Click image for larger version

I made my own when I installed a battery disconnect.
I used 2 AWG wire sourced from a marine supplier.
Here's one:

or

Most suppliers will make cables for you. I just wanted to do it my way. Be aware that 2AWG and 2-0 AWG are very different. 2-0 means 00. 4-0 means 0000.
I recall Airstream used 4AWG and 6AWG, much smaller.
You can see my jumpers go outside the battery handle so the fillers are accessible.
The battery posts are 5/16" so your terminals will be sourced for that.

A/C-D/C Supply has what ever you need, in any size, in any length, with any connector type. Prices are very reasonable, fast shipping, and great customer service.

I have no financial interest in their company, but I am a satisfied customer with multiple orders over the past year and a half. One order came damaged by FedEX and when I e-mailed the owner, he sent an immediate replacement shipment. Did not require me to file against FedEX, although it was clearly run over and dragged by forklift or truck during shipment (afterwhich someone at FedEX put the clearly damaged cables insided a new FedEX envelope and delivered anyway).

My last order was 1/0 cable with Anderson connectors for quick disconnect capability.

Battery compartment re-cabling

I remove the two cables that Airstream installed ( one to the “trailer” and one to the inverter) and replaced them with one 1/0 cable that I made. I bought a crimper on Amazon and used welding cable which is extremely flexible. I did this when I installed a battery disconnect and a Victron battery monitor.
