Well, it didnít take long but two trips in, and a few trips across the scales, told me it was time to upgrade the truck. While the 1500
was OK, and by many measures a fine tow vehicle, we were right at the limit with both payload and rear axle rating, and that was with only 3 of the 4 of us. Probably could have managed further with loading, etc. but that still wouldnít give any room for a canopy (big dog), generator, firewood, etc.
So out with the Chevy 1500
3.0 Duramax and in with the GMC 2500 6.6 Duramax!
Say hello to Carl, our brown AT4.
