Back at it soon - new 2019 International Signature 25FBT

After a couple of years off for personal reasons, we're getting ready to pick up our new 2019 International Signature 25FB Twin!

We've always eyed the 25' model as the perfect mix of interior spaciousness with a relatively compact exterior. The 25' seemed like a huge jump when we had our 16' Bambi, less so with our 23D, and now we're ready to try it out for ourselves.

Although we're only in our 40's and always viewed twin beds as something for the more 'mature' set, we're looking forward to the interior sightlines through the trailer and the more generous individual bed spaces. We've grown our family by a large dog too and imagine her spot on the floor right between the two beds.

We thought we were going Globetrotter for sure, and then found an incredible deal on the last 2019 25' Signature in our dealer's network. Circa 31% off MSRP pushed us off the edge and into the deal. This is our first brand new Airstream and we're beyond excited. We're planning to use the money saved over the Globetrotter to incrementally make upgrades... solar and lithium anyone?

Thanks for reading and looking forward to mining all the posts for good information!

Looks great and congrats on such a good deal! And the 25' is an "ideal" size for many reasons.

Where will you be taking her on the maiden voyage?

Wishing you safe journeys!

Well, it didn’t take long but two trips in, and a few trips across the scales, told me it was time to upgrade the truck. While the 1500 was OK, and by many measures a fine tow vehicle, we were right at the limit with both payload and rear axle rating, and that was with only 3 of the 4 of us. Probably could have managed further with loading, etc. but that still wouldn’t give any room for a canopy (big dog), generator, firewood, etc.

So out with the Chevy 1500 3.0 Duramax and in with the GMC 2500 6.6 Duramax!

Say hello to Carl, our brown AT4.Click image for larger version

Great upgrade!

Congratulations on your upgrade! You did it the right way and came to the conclusion that payload anxiety isn’t worth ruining your towing experience.

Wishing you many happy trips!
