Have fun. We're finally getting #62 out for a shakedown cruise this weekend. Heading down to the TX coast and back. Enjoy.

Does David still do these custom door guards?

The Victorinox edition might be another. Airstreams with slides might be a third.
BTW, if you want a handsome custom door guard for your Airstream, David can do that, too. http://www.vintagetrailering.com/acc...nd%20stuff.htm
We love the one he made for us.
Oh, and this is interesting. David can get new empty shells from Airstream and then fill them with whatever you want. Tempting, tempting.... http://www.vintagetrailering.com/cur...0projects.html

His website indicates that you can order them, so I'd guess, "Yes." Best way to find out for sure is to place an order.
Here's what ours looks like: http://www.casarocinante.com/Blog-As...te/i-pMvrqTJ/A

Sent you a PM with the email he used in 9/2014 when he communicated with us about our order. Maybe that one will work. If he's cool with you sharing that email or a better one publicly here on the forum, feel free to post that after he says, "Go for it."

national parks
Does anyone know how we redeem our National Park free year pass? I don't see anything about it in the paperwork. Dealer did not say anything either.

My best guess is a NP ranger station or BLM offices where you can buy a NP pass.
They issue them, they should know.

National Park Pass
I asked our dealer when we picked up our Pendleton over 4 weeks ago now and still have not heard a thing. I have the "America the Beautiful" senior pass but would like the annual to give to one of kids or someone who will benefit from it.

Defects in veneer
Have any of you Pendleton owners noticed tiny white spots on the Hickory veneer? At first I thought it was some kind of overspray or just wasn't cleaned well but after using a 10x loop I could tell that it's a defect in the finish.
Were it just one or two spots I wouldn't mind but in our trailer there are dozens and dozens on the cabinets, doors and walls.
I've reported it to the dealer but what can be done other than replace most of the interior?

Back in the 70's when I worked in the RV/mobile manufacturing, they would use some kind of paint, putty, marker, or tape, to do touch up on a skinned/dinged surface.
Your issue looks to be a printing problem when they applied the textured exterior finish during manufacturing.
Replacement the only real fix, if there is enough of that panel/laminate left available from the factory.
It may be a one time, special, short run to fill AS's need for their construction, and the factory sent seconds to cover the purchase agreement, hoping to get away with it.

Perhaps these white spots are another "feature" provided by the lowest bidder.

We finally picked up our much anticipated Pendleton last night. First time my wife had seen the interior and she loved it (thank goodness!). I asked about the annual park pass as well and was told it was coming directly from Airstream. Hopefully we'll have word soon on when it will arrive.
I have to say, I was a little sad to trade in the 27' FC. She served us well over the last 3 years. Many happy memories in that trailer.
Also, looked at the flooring to see if I noticed the white spots. I didn't see anything obvious but I haven't knelt down on the floor to inspect more closely either. Did you say you used magnification to verify?
I can't wait to take the trailer out next week for our first trip. Dinner in the driveway will have to do until then!
Oh, when I picked up my trailer I saw #56 waiting to be delivered and #88 was being sold that day. The new owner was very excited about his first Airstream purchase.
Lastly, I want to say how much I appreciate everyone that posts to this forum. Their knowledge, opinions and expertise has helped me immensely over the years. I spend most evenings reading through the different threads learning as much as I can about this wonderful Aistream Lifestyle.
Have a great week everyone.

When we first saw the Pendleton we thought the modern flat screen TV looked just a little out of place on the map wall. So we removed it and changed the wall to eliminate all the holes. Then the problem was where to put a TV.
Solution was to make the wedge cushion just behind the door into an upholstered cabinet and install a power lift TV. This got us a 32" TV instead of the stock 28". When you are not watching it you can make it disappear with the push of a button.

A creative use of that space vs. the giant wedge cushion. Every time I look at the one in my trailer, I just shake my head over the wasted space. Nice!
Thanks for sharing, Andrew.

Andrew that is such a cool idea!!! Love it, and we have some white spots on laminate, not that bad...but I have one spot on the wall map by the oven, It kills me....one side of the floor by the bed, squeaks like crazy....Like the floor board is not screwed in correctly...Very annoying...
