Playing music from phone through stereo?

Hi,

I have a 2014 Sterling. Can I play music from my iPhone through the stereo system? If so, what's the connection/technique? Thanks!!!

If your radio has Bluetooth, connecting your phone via Bluetooth might be the best way. My 2014 FC has that capability.

Our 2005's radio wasn't Bluetooth nor provided with input jack. We replaced with one year newer same model radio to gain input jack for iPhone, iPod, XM, and TV sound in to trailer's sound system. Fortunately new radio used same din chassis so slide out and slide in and radio replaced. At the time we didn't have any bluetooth devices so didn't matter. Not gonna replace it now just to gain that. Works great as is.

If your stereo has an Aux (auxiliary) input on the front, just connect it using that via the headphone jack on the phone (of course if you have Bluetooth on the stereo then you could use that as others have said). If you have a newer iPhone without a headphone jack, you can use the little white dongle adapter that came with it. It plugs into the lightning connector on the phone. You would also need a cable with a male, mini audio jack on each end. Available on Amazon, eBay and likely Best Buy.

If you have an aux input you can also use an auxiliary Bluetooth device. They sell for more or less $25. This gives you an option to not be cabled to your stereo.

Good point 4. Have have used those in my car and they work well. I might pick up on for the AS. I'm glad you brought it up!

what works for me in these kind of cases is I look out the door and ask the 1st nerdy teenager walking by. 90% success rate in getting my question answered or systems fixed.

Rather than replace devices, I'd suggest looking at a portable bluetooth device. Or perhaps a sound bar for the TV with bluetooth capability. My sound bar (Vizeo) connects to the TV via fiber, but has a bluetooth input for the phone.
Check Crutchfield for options in higher end bluetooth speakers (Sonos comes to mind.)

The OP asked this question a year ago. Only had 6 posts and never came back to this thread.
