That is a great ideal on the supports it would take almost all the vibration out. Thanks I never thought about it. I am making my first cut on the tongue saturday and im doing the welding so I can design outriggers that come down below the generator and support it. Matter of fact I still have 4 of the airstream jacks that go under the airstream that hug the belly and swing down when you turn it im not going to need them because my camper is to small for them maybe I will use one of those. Im going to make a diamond plate cover for it when im done hopefully I will finish the welding sunday or monday. I think its going to work out great.

eek!

I sort of envisioned a nesting tube arrangement on corners that used bolts or clips - drop legs in, through bolt then lower the A-frame trailer jack until the weight is lifted from the frame...

The 'pod legs' need not be massive - or even very long since laying out a couple of chunks of lumber as a sled underneath to distribute the weight will help get required frame & ground clearance easier - just enough height to clear whatever frame locator brakets & anchors or take 90% of load off rubber isolators if the cage still has them...

The wood sled runners would have locator holes for the tube legs & have teeth un ground contact side to keep start ups or vibration from walking unit around and/or damaging the rubber shock mounts...

PS: you get 100% credit if this thing works / falls off

Yea I can make it the same shape of the tongue just the piece under the generator out of some smaller steel and put it on some kind of jack. Connect it to the tongue so it can be raised up off the frame maybe an inch or so that way you won't even know it is even there.

I think it is.Why is something wrong with them? I have heard there hard to kill. It is remote capable and I think it can be wired for 240 or 115.

Ok I cut the frame and welded 2 ft back in and it turned out great I will hopefully be able to take some pictures this week it also stopped all the sway it had at 45 mph. I think it looks great. I have already set the gen on the tongue I just have to bolt it down.

I have the body off my wee wind and am waiting for new x members to be fabbed, hope to build new trlr this weekend. I can pick up existing frame (less axle) by myself and only take 2 guys to pick up the body.i think that this airstream could be towed by a gold wing easy. my last 1 was 20' cut from 31', ended up weight 2800lbs.a little heavy for a 4 cyl but my v6 4.3 pulled it just fine. sold to pay for weee wind and restoration of same.lots of pics. i to have problems uploading pics to the thread, guess i need the neighbors 10 yr old to help me.

Dab a little "Vulkem" on the rivet before placing in the hole. (Now called "TremPro 635")

Anticipation... I am looking forward to seeing before and after pictures!!!

Trempro has several different flavors of the polyurethane caulk - their masonry sealant lines that is more available locally is faster curing and imbued with a lot of silica powder to better weather exposure. so it's not so good for sheet metal lap joints or fastener sealing. I used it as adhesive for insulation and general sealant in the inner shell cavities across the rivet backs. Don't get the identical tubes (except for micro-print ID) mixed up if you choose to have some around; label or flag the 'good stuff'...

Joey,
I've just read your complete post and I'm already planning a similar project in my head. My wife is thrilled (insert sarcastic tone!) How are things going? Any new pictures or updates for us?
