It s a bittersweet moment for us as we list our 2021 Airstream trailer for sale. Like many, we bought our trailer during the early months of COVID and after having it for about four years, it s time to let it go. Overall I d say it s been lightly used and well taken care of. So if you ve been looking for a bargain trailer that is ready to hit the road, then here s your opportunity!
Here are some of the specifics. It s a 2021 Flying Cloud 25 with the two twin beds known in Airstream parlance as the 25FBT 25 foot, front bedroom twin . It features the oven rather than a microwave under the stove. Another key feature provided by Airstream is the inclusion of the rear hatch. This was an 8,000 option that we think really makes a tremendous addition to the trailer. When open it gives you more of connection to being outside, improves the view when inside, and greatly increases the air flow inside the rig. Personally, I d never want a trailer without a hatch. Our trailer has one air con / heat pump unit and two fantastic fans which do a great job of heating and cooling the rig. Some Flying Clouds offer two A/Cs and only one fan but we thought this was overkill for dry California weather and we ve never questioned our decision to go with this configuration. It also features the two additional window awnings in addition to the main awning on the passenger side.
Our trailer has also been outfitted with a solar/battery system. This was professionally done by the Avalon RV a highly reputable company in Benicia, CA that specializes in solar system installs as well as Airstream restorations. So you can feel comfortable that it was done right. Key features of this system was the roof installation of four 90 watt panel solar panels. Inside the rig you ll find two 100 amp Battle Born Lithium Ion batteries. And then running the 360 watt / 200 amp system is a Smart Solar charge controller and a Victron Energy color touch screen. Avalon RV also installed for us a Dish Network Playmate satellite dish on the roof which is paired with a Hopper HD DVR to provide high definition TV service to both of the TVs inside the trailer.
If you re reading this post, you are probably aware of all of the other key features of the Airstream Flying Cloud. If not, the photos should give you a good idea of the layout, dimensions, etc. Or go to the Airstream website for the full rundown. Overall, I d say that they trailer is in excellent condition. There are a few light scratches on the exterior aluminum that could probably be buffed out with a bit of effort. All major systems work as intended. The only minor issue that I m aware of is that I recently noticed that the bug screen for the rear hatch isn t retracting into its housing compartment. So if you want the screen up, that will need to be fixed/replaced. We just normally left the screen down to keep the bugs out. We have a clean title and will throw in an Equalizer anti sway hitch, as well as a Proven Industries trailer coupler lock. The tires have a decent amount of tread left. I think we traveled a little over 5,000 miles with it.
We ve priced our trailer at 75,000 which we feel is a bargain after seeing what others are listed for. We will require a wire transfer or possibly a certify cashiers check for payment. I m happy to discuss the trailer with those who are seriously in the market. Please don t contact me with a low ball offer. While we feel that the trailer is priced to move, we aren t in any great urgency for it to sell. So please don t waste my time or yours. If you ve been waiting for a COVID era trailer that s being offered at a discounted price, well here s your opportunity. We hate to see it go, but after taking a handful of trips in it, we ve just come to the conclusion that trailering isn t for us and we ll be moving on to a motorized coach instead.
