This 2018 Bowlus Road Chief Open Road Edition is one of the most luxurious and unique trailers in the RV world. The Bowlus Road Chief is the original aluminum travel trailer and stands out not only by its distinctive design, but its remarkable lightness monocoque design that allows it to be towed by almost any vehicle. Owning this practically new RV is like owning a part of RVing history.
The Bowlus was the first of its kind, originally designed in 1934. Only 80 of them were made in the 1930s before the trailer's designer, Hawley Bowlus, returned to the aircraft industry and one of his former employees, Wally Byam, took what he learned at Bowlus and started Airstream. Almost 80 years later, Bowlus enthusiasts who had restored one of the original 1930s trailers decided to revive the company in 2014 adding modern features like radiant floors, on demand hot water, and a wifi booster.
Our trailer is in excellent condition. It's tongue weight is only 270lbs so you can move it by hand. The hitch weight is only 2300lbs so you most likely already own the vehicle to tow it with. Not only is the exterior unsurpassed quality airplane grade aluminum! , but the interior is extra luxe with a clever, efficient design including an ergonomic seating area and smart kitchen, as well as, super comfortable memory foam twin beds in the back. The trailer is a perfect upscale travel rig.
The Bowlus Road Chief has plenty of other opulent features: heated floors, light wood airy interior, rich deep red/ brown leather like upholstery cooler, more practical in the living room, a 3 cu ft fridge, a 2 burner propane stove that runs off of a 28.3 lb liquid propane tank. The RV features a new battery, and a 200 watt Zamp solar panel to keep you running in the wild. The rig has a digital thermostat that also runs the 2500btu boiler and 10000btu A/C. It has a 19 gallon fresh water tank, and a 21 gallon grey water tank along with a wet bath endless hot water on demand! and cassette toilet. Stay connected with the built in cellular amplifier and mini booster. This trailer also comes with a brake control for a smoother ride.
This well loved, well cared for Bowlus travel trailer is not only stunning, it is practical. Everything about it is well designed for a better travel experience.
