This is the perfect project trailer! We purchased for just that to create a custom trailer. We have a 1979 Argosy Minuet travel trailer. The argosy model of Airstream is awesome, because it's light weight and easy to tow. However, shortly after purchasing, we had a baby and discovered we don't have the time to put into this project trailer.
As far as the trailer goes, we took it to a RV repair shop locally, he said the water tanks need to be replaced, the AC works but sounds like an airplane, so also may need to be replaced if you want to have it, and the exterior needs to be caulked around the windows to avoid leaks. The positives of the trailer is the shell is in great shape for being 42 years old, the windows are also in great condition, the skins inside do not need to be replaced and it tows great.
