1974 Airstream Argosy 24 - California

SOLD!! 1974 Argosy Motorhome. Mostly original with the kitchen, bathroom and twin bed rear bedroom still intact. Fast Eddie, as he's called, has the most peaceful interior and beautiful light. The windows are all original except the rear passenger side which has been replaced by plexiglass. I started playing with color schemes so the outside has some un admirably painted areas for test runs. The appliances are there, but I don't know if they are functional. The dinette is missing, I was going to replace it with a 50's formica table. See photos

The carpet runner and diner table in the pics is not included. I took out the passenger seat and replaced it with a narrow sofa base for my big Golden Retriever, but he wouldn't let me sell his bed with the motorhome so it's not there anymore. The driver's seat was replaced by a Flexsteel Motorhome seat, but installed backwards so it needs a little adjustment.

It has 6 new 900 mi , good tires on it,. A mechanic went through and made sure it was functional, changed the fuel pump, new battery, new front brakes, flushed the radiator and on and on.

The inside was still disgustingly the original, so I replaced the carpet, painted, repainted the dash black, put in new carpet. I took out all of the old upholstery and cushions. I drove in the direction of the Oregon boarder from Southern California last June to work as a camp host, but Fast Eddie broke down and never made it to the campground. He is housed in a storage lot in Arcata, California.

I don't know exactly what is wrong, but it involves leaking oil. Eddie might need a new engine or just a new ?? No one there seems qualified or interested in figuring it out.

At this point, I'd like to sell Eddie possibly as a parts motorhome or if you are mechanical ..... The interior is in the midst of being completely painted but the breakdown stopped all other work.

Eddie can be picked up at the storage if you are interested in bring him back to life or letting him give your project parts.

I finally got some photos uploaded. There are original condition and some of the work I did. I have parts that I bought for Eddie, if you want them.... I am going to drive up there this week, so I can take those items with me. Kitchen counter, sink, faucet, medicine cabinet, radio, Ispring water filter.

The last two photos are inspiration photos.

Taking a big loss, but only asking 2500. If you want to leave him in storage there, it's only 60/mo.
