Hey Friends! The time has sadly come to accept that I must sell my
1953 21 Airstream. I purchased her with the intention of fulfilling my dream for a Hawaiian Dessert Food Truck/Cart, but like all good ideas...
Here are some of her details
I purchased her mostly gutted and with the side food service flip up window already installed
All old sub flooring, floor insulation, and all other moldy disgusting sh t was then demoed
Structural supports in floor were re welded and reinforced
The floor was insulated again, and then I installed a new sub floor and finally a finish floor
1950 s Style Tiles extra replacement tiles will come with the trailer
The back bumper was repaired and replaced ready for paint
All plumbing fixtures and piping including an on demand hot water heater, stainless sink, white water tank and grey water tank were all purchased, yet uninstalled, but come with the airstream
All cabinet boxes were designed and cut out on a CNC machine to match the unique and challenging obstacle of fitting cabinetry to curves they have been installed and are ready to be finished see attached plan/drawings
Her exterior was polished by hand and the interior was painted a mint green she cute :
Nothing electric has been installed yet on the interior, but all exterior lights for towing are operational
She tows super well and is pretty light to tow with a Tacoma or Larger SUV
Bonus for an additional small fee, she comes with an optional commercial Hawaiian Shave Ice Machine and/or custom kick ass wallpaper from Flavorpaper in Brooklyn that was designed specifically to tick to her interior walls. yay
Cons
She needs new tires because I ve let her sit for 2 years best to move her with a rollback trailer to be safe, OR we can work out mounting new tires
The front window was vandalized when it was safely stored in downtown Charleston during a hurricane... It s not broken still operable , but the disrespectful jerks decided to use the finish flooring adhesive cement to make abstract art ... and I do not know how to remove it
She's almost 70 years old, and somewhere along the line someone jackknifed the front right side. The indent has been Mostly repaired to the best of our ability without replacing the exterior aluminum
Some of the aluminum on the rear side needs to be riveted back into place an approx 1' w area under the rear bumper I have lots of extra Aluminum that will come with the airstream for this purpose
Title
From what I understand, it s incredibly rare to have an original title from 68 years ago. In fact, I realized much later in ownership that I was sold the Airstream with a title that was dated
1964, so it did not even match the year of vehicle... I have aged it as a
1953 because of my research on the vin/serial number Pictured This airstream will be sold with a Bill of Sale.
