To do this, the vehicle must be in very good technical condition.
I don't care about the state, but I would prefer the east coast.

Hi Jens,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations to your approach to become an Airstream owner. As I was looking for almost one year for an AS, selling units were posted all over the US. So you should find one on the East Coast. It will also be much cheeper for shipping it later on to Europe but does not matter too much in your case as you want to travel thru the US anyway before the shipment. And at the end of the trip you could drive your AS onto a vessel to Europe. Shipment itself will be approx. US$50 per mł. So if you have a 280 it will be around $3000..5000.
When you travel thru the US, it would be great if you could fix as much as possible locally because prices of labor are much lower than here.
Let us have a chat over the phone, I send you my number thru a PM.
Regards,
Mario
