Title: 2019 Airstream Sport 22 - Texas
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
So you know those lessons that you learn the hard way? Well, this was one of them.
We made a rookie mistake of not checking the clearance two weeks into the ownership of our Airstream Sport 22FB. Fortunately no one was hurt, but as you can see from the pics the trailer suffered a bit of a crop top and there's now a skylight where the AC using used to be. Could have been a lot worse, we were lucky.
SO what's the damage? The AC unit was destroyed and there are dents on the front and rear upper shell endcaps. The interior ceiling near the AC has some distortion but it's very difficult to capture in the photos.
From the ground you can't see the damage at all.
This is a great trailer for:
Someone who has experience fixing Airstream bodywork
Anyone considering parking it under a structure
Anyone looking for AS parts (although admittedly this makes me very sad to think about.
The place storing the unit had a covering over the AC hole which we recently discovered had been removed. So now there's a small spot on the floor now were some rain water got in and will need to be repaired. Its a small area will get pics this week. After this happened we decided we really needed to sell it.
We don't want to waste anyones time so this is as honest of an assessment as we can make. This is a really outstanding trailer and with a little love can be as good as new in no time.
I've gotten some questions on the listing so here's some clarification.
There are about 1300 miles on the trailer (one trip from Austin to El Paso and then the infamous crop top camping trip happened. It's been parked since.
The cost of a new AC unit is around
1500.
Title is clear (non salvage).
Yes—all the pics are of the actual unit. I'll upload pics of the other side of the trailer when I get out to the storage facility. The important thing, is there's no visible damage to the front/rear/sides that is visible from the ground. We even still went camping after the accident and none of our friends even noticed. Fortunately we didn't need the AC that weekend.
We're pricing this thing to move, price is firm.
