2017 Airstream International 27 - Ohio

Title: 2017 Airstream International 27 - Ohio
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

2017 International Signature 27 FB Twin

Our pride and joy with many upgrades you will enjoy. Less than 3000 miles on her. Why are we selling? We loved the travelling lifestyle so much, we have the opportunity to move up to a 30' Classic.

Very well cared for and stored in a fully enclosed garage during the winter tucked away and never has seen snow or salt.

I replaced the Goodyear Marathon tires with ST Maxis tires as soon as I drove her back from Haydoucy Airstream in Columbus Ohio (Our dealer). Spare has also been replaced. I also replaced the single stage charger/converter with a Progressive 4 stage charger with charge wizard.

I replaced the two interstate batteries with two Duracell 6V golf cart batteries for a total of 234 amp hours. The batteries are 66 lbs. and equivalents to the trojan series. A great battery and they work well.

After learning about saving water, we replaced the shower head with the wonderful Oxygenetics shower head.

I added a very nice round "cutting board" top to cover the sink and the reverse side is used as a cutting board. A bit expensive, but a nice touch ovewr the plastic white cover. The white cover is also included.

All of the tin covered wheel lug nuts have been replaced with solid chromed lug nuts (Why would airstream use those cheap nuts?).

I also added Centramatic wheel balancers to the 4 wheels. This perfectly balances the tires automatically and has been used on semi-trucks for many years. They work perfectly and will save your tire’s tread.

I added truck systems Tire monitors to the four tires. It will read out tire pressure and temperature real time and has alarms you can set.

I also added a valve in front of the water pump, and a section of clear hose that you use to pump antifreeze into the plumbing to winterize the trailer. It has always been winterized during the two winters it has gone through. No leaks period.

I added a Microair EasyStart controller box to the 15,000 btu air conditioner. This does not void the warranty and actually puts less stress on your compressor. It will allow you to run your AC (and inside lights) from a single Honda 2000i or 2200i generator.

The swing up mirror in the signature weighs 9 lbs. Before installing 2 gas shocks and locking clip, you had to balance the mirror on your head for it to stay open. Now it works perfectly and stays open on its own.

I added 2 fantastic fan white covers above the fans (on the roof) to allow you to run the fans during a rainstorm. The fans normally shut off using a water sensor and you can’t run them while it is raining!

As per Airsteam forum’s recommendation, I have treated each and every rivet and cut line with corrosion-X treatment to prevent filiform from forming where the aluminum surface has been cut or drilled for rivets. There is no filiform anywhere on this trailer. I’ve applied it twice now as recommended.

I prided myself in learning all that I could about our trailer. The trailer is basically “stock” and original and I can assure you that all systems functions perfectly and in some cases, better than from the factory. We did take our trailer to Jackson Center initially for minor adjustments, which they repaired perfectly.

We have added some automatic led lights and shelving inside the cabinets that you can remove (nothing bolted, screwed or glued) if you like. We added a full-length mirror inside the wardrobe that also can be removed. We recently made a custom set of two cushions that creates a wonderful sofa out of the rear dinette. They have a pleasant matching pattern to the existing light beige factory cushions. This gives you a more comfortable position to watch TV at night.

It may sound silly, but we upgraded the toilet seat! The slow closing seat and lid is a huge improvement over the plastic seat. It is about 1 ½” higher than the original one and makes (well sitting) easier in that small space. It also doesn’t “drop” waking your spouse at night. The seat is new and unused. Our seat & lid recently lost a screw so we replaced.

Over all the body is perfect except for one very small impression that we got the day we drove it home for the first time. We don’t know where or how it happened, but it did. You will have a hard time finding it. I’ve been on the roof and the seams are all still pliable with no cracks. I keep the trailer washed and clean and use Nano wax on the aluminum surfaces. My wife and I have kept the trailer very clean and there are no rips, tears, marks, smells, smoke, dog hair, sand, dust or dirt anywhere inside the trailer. There are no food smells in the trailer. Expect exactly what you normal would get from the factory, only cleaner!

I can list all the factory specs and features, but you can look these up from airstream. The only two options at the time we purchased was the full awning package and the rear camera. We bought those options. We have all the original manuals and booklets and the travel case that Airstream gives a new owner. Two set of keys and even some time remaining on the original warranty. It is transferable. We can answer any questions you have and can even send you a video of the entire trailer or whatever you want to see. We are from Northeastern Ohio, we are in our mid-sixties, we love life and we want to continue our journey in a new 30’ classic. You will love the care we put into this one and we know you will enjoy it as much as we did during the short time we had her.
