2006 Airstream Safari SE 25 - Maine

In the 90th year of Airstreams existence, we will at long last be selling our 75th Anniversary Special Edition Safari. Our family of 5 has been living full time in our House on Wheels, as our 3 boys, ages 10, 7 and 5, like to call it. In 2010, my wife and I circled the globe, in a plane prior to camper life, living out of a backpack and tent, serving in 11 countries over 11 months. Since 2017, we have tried our best to replicate that lifestyle out of our 200sf shining travel trailer, volunteering across the US and Canada, visiting 33 of the 62 National Parks, and showing our boys a uniquely different way of life.

And now we find ourselves on the verge of a new season. We are in search of someone who can care for our Birdie, her given name when purchased back in May of '17 from a kind couple in TN.

Upon entering Her Majesty, there is a quad kitchen table outlooking a panoramic back window. This area converts into a mini queen 84x55 inch bed which rests beneath two large wardrobe/storage cabinets. Adjacent, and across from the kitchen, is a full sized couch that transforms into a full 75x48 inch bed perfectly positioned for watching the wall mounted TV. Two large windows, with dual vista views above, allow light to pour in for cooking preparations. The culinary area presents the original 75th anniversary appliances and layout along with an additional vista view window and Fantastic Fan new motor installed Oct 2020. The interior is fully aluminum, which marks the inspirational period in Airstreams history when they transitioned away from carpeted walls.

As you enter the front half of Birdie there is a bathroom to the right, with plenty of cabinet space above and below, and a shower unit to the left. This past month we upgraded exhaust fans in both bath enclosure which provide excellent air flow circulation. The main bedroom delivers 270 degrees of visibility in addition to a second overhead skylight port window. Original Airstream twin beds nestle themselves within an array of closets and cabinets galore.

The exterior design of this quarter quell anniversary model delivers an outdoor shower and solar panels. And new Michelin Defender tires have been put into action as of October of 2020.

We have been honored to call this amazing vehicle our home for the past 49 months of our lives. As you can imagine the boys have lightly signaturized a few minor scrapes and dings of 'normal wear and tear' but nothing that has yet to prevent at least one, but often times several, fellow campers from asking if Birdie is a fresh off the lot model.

Our family is currently in Acadia NP Bar Harbor, ME and will be making our way to/thru Niagara Falls NY, Painted Rocks N. MI, Isle Royale NP, WI and then Chicago before circling back to the Valley of Happiness in State College, PA. If you happen to reside along that route please let us know and we can set up a time for an in person tour. Or if you'd prefer to set up a video walk through, just say the word. Have a great summer.

What are you looking to get for it? Any know issues or previous major repairs? I might be interested in taking a look. I can’t be far away, currently in Southwest Harbor.
