The Safari was one of Airstream’s most popular travel trailers for decades. With more floor plans available than any other model, it’s easy to see why. A fit for families, long-term travelers, or weekend wanderers, there’s a great chance you could find that this is Safari perfect for you.
Weighing in at only 4870 lbs this trailer is easily towed by most pick-up trucks and larger SUV’s. She has a carrying capacity of 1430 lbs giving you a chance to take a lot of things with you. A Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) 6,300 makes this one of the lighter 25’ Airstreams yet still has plenty of room for four adults to travel comfortably. This trailer has four new tires with less than 1000 miles on them and the queen sized mattress is almost brand new.
Because the trailer is 19 years old, some of the clear coat is pealing above the windows. You can see some minor scratches and small dings on the exterior in the pictures, not to bad for Airstream of this age. Although the interior is a bit dated and still mostly, the original cabinets are in great shape. The curtains function well, however, you will notice some water stains on the lower portions. See what happens when someone leaves the windows open during a shower.
Because the original light blue carpet is soiled, we have used inexpensive area rugs to hide the carpet stains so we never see them. I wonder whose idea it was to put carpet in a camping trailer. Most of the newer ones have either wood or linoleum floors. There is no sign that this trailer has ever been smoked in and lacks any disagreeable odors.
This trailer is capable of carrying up to 45 US gallons of fresh water (including the water heater) for a total weight of 375.543 pounds. Fresh water weights 8.3454 pounds lbs per US Gallon. 39 gallons are in the fresh water tank and 6 in the water heater. The grey water tank holds 39 gallons and the black water tank holds 33.
