1998 Airstream 190 B Van 19 - Georgia

Title: 1998 Airstream 190 B Van 19 - Georgia
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

$19,500 or make offer

1998, Class B Airstream 190 (aka B190) on Ford E350 chassis w/ 6.8L V-10 engine

Airstream VIN: 1B9KGVA27WJ301330

Ford VIN: 1FDSS34S2WHB40217

~83,000 miles

Everything works. Fully self-contained Class B motorhome: kitchen (with refrigerator, 3-burner stove, oven and microwave), toilet, shower, on-board fresh water tank, on-board generator. Three-way refrigerator works on propane, AC and 12V. Sleeps up to 4. Bunk area sleeps two children or one adult. Couch opens to bed and sleeps two.

This motorhome is in very good condition and is ready to go camping - all you need to do is bring your clothes, linens and food. The following items are included:

• 30 amp AC power cord for "shore" power
• extra 30 amp AC power extension cord
• sewer hose and connectors
• white color fresh water hose
• green color hose for general purpose use
• basic tool kit including adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and voltage meter

12V box fan - Endless Breeze

The motorhome has been used regularly and was recently serviced (synthetic oil change, check brakes, multi-point inspection). The tires are approximately four years old. No known defects other than what is shown in the pictures - there is minor staining (due to age) on some of the curtains, a few cosmetic blemishes on the exterior paint, minor stains on carpet, slight separation (vinyl shrunk) on the ceiling near the air conditioner.

The red number at the rear of the motorhome indicates the previous owner was member #10191 in the Airstream owner club (WBCCI). That membership number is available and can be transferred to the new owner.

1998 Airstream 190 B Van 19 - Georgia

Very interested.

Looks like a clean well maintained unit. A few questions if you don't mind.

Any ongoing difficult to resolve electrical issues with motor or chassis? Battery draining, alternator problems, generator breaker tripping, etc.

Carfax history search suggests 5,000+ mile on service between 1-2016 and 5-2016. Long trip? How did it do? And why the sell?

Looks like its changed owners about every two years since 2012. Any comments?

Thanks

We're not aware of any issues. Both the vehicle and house batteries have disconnects to reduce parasitic drain during storage. Engine works fine. We replaced the vehicle battery about a year ago. House battery is older but seem to hold a charge well. No breakers tripping. The generator works well but has a vibration/rattling noise. We had it checked by Cummins/Onan and they indicated it's just that - a rattle/bump that they would not take time to repair. I guess the generator housing is bumping against the shroud Airstream installed.

My wife's sister took a trip to Florida and that wasn't enough miles to change oil. We took a trip to mid-west so we changed the oil and had multi-point inspection performed after that trip. Our trip was 3000 miles and we experienced a wide variety of temperatures and weather conditions. No water leaks. We used every appliance - microwave, refrigerator, AC, heat strip in the AC, space heater, furnace, water heater, shower, toilet, etc. All systems work.

We originally purchased the van because my wife's sister was interested. She specifically wanted an Airstream. She camped in the van twice - one of which was a seven week trip to Florida - but determined the van was not her "cup of tea." We have used the van several other times and are very enamored with the Class B form of travel. If we didn't have an Airstream trailer we would keep the van. However, since my wife's sister didn't buy the van from us it's really not in the picture for us to keep the van.

Looks like its changed owners about every two years since 2012. Any
comments?

I think we are the third owner. The original person owned the van for many years and sold it in about 2011 or 2012. I think they were elderly and decided to stop traveling. I think the second owner had the van for about two years and sold it to us in 2014. The second owner previously had a larger motorhome, then downsized to the van, then upsized to a larger trailer. I double-checked this via Carfax when we purchased the vehicle but don't recall all the details at this point.

In addition, we have not smoked nor had pets in the van. The same is true for the prior owner. I am not sure about the original owner. We had the entire van cleaned by Zerorez when we bought it two years ago.
