Title: 1994 Airstream Classic 36 Diesel 36 - NULL
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
According to Airstream, there were a total of 27 Classic Diesel Pushers made from 1994-1996. These were the last of the aluminum sided Airstream motorhomes ever built as this was the Airstream flagship during that time frame. The original cost of this coach was $194k (ask to see the receipt). I am the second owner who purchased it in 2001 from the original owner in San Diego.
Among features,
Sparton chassis (Model EC-2242)
5.9 Cummings engine, 230 hp at 2500 rpm with additional 95 hp from Banks Power Pack upgrade added in 2001
6 speed automatic Allison transmission (model MD-3060)
7.5 kW diesel generator
Full zip dee awnings along both sides
2 air conditioners
2 televisions
4 - 120 W solar panels added in 2001
3.0 kW full sine wave Xantrex inverter/charger added in December 2007
I lived in this coach in Rhode Island off the grid during 2001 to 2007. The coach needs work including a grounding issue with the transmission controller. It always starts right up and can only be driven for a limited distance. There are some dings of varying size around the body. The interior is basically shot and needs to be redone although there are newer flatscreen TVs installed. The Cummings motor is solid and averages ~ 11 mpg for the 140,000 miles or so that I have driven it. I purchased new starting batteries in 2015.
