We are selling our beautifully renovated 1984 Airstream Excella.

This is perfect for an AirBnB cabin on your property, traveling full time across the country (as we used it), or just enjoying for occasional glamping.
We have completely remodeled this classic RV. All the old interior was pulled out, subfloor was completely replaced. New Roxul insulation put it. We re-used the existing aluminum skin, and painted it a beautiful-clean white to promote spaciousness and give a modern feel. All of the interior furniture and cabinets have been designed with the greatest of care to maximize space and storage, all the while being mindful of the weight added to the frame.
The front dinette table is hydraulic and makes it a breeze to turn into an oversized king bed. The back lounge area can be made into two beds (perfect for the kids!). Curtains for these back beds can be closed for privacy, or kept open for an airy feel.
The storage is immense! And every cabinet door or drawer is made with high quality hinges; heavy-duty slides; and door pulls that lock with just a push to keep things secure during transport.
The hallway has a massive drawer bank with deep drawers, it has housed clothes for our family of four comfortably (and left us a drawer to spare!). The expansive counter top makes a great place to fold laundry; pack up your gear before hitting the trail; or use as extra kitchen prep space. The kitchen cabinets were designed to maximize space and organization. The middle cupboard is a pull out mega drawer deck (perfect for using the whole depth of the cabinet without having to fumble about for things!). When it comes time to cook, you can choose to bake and sauté inside or out with the high-end large toaster oven and induction hot plate. We have loved this flexibility which has allowed us to bake a cake or boil up spaghetti outside on a hot summer day (keeping the rig nice and cool!).
Deep drawers in the front dinette allow you to access storage without needing anyone sitting in the dinette to move. (We used these for shoes and cold weather gear; hiking packs; kids toys). Extra storage in the corners of the dinette can hold linens and pillows for when you turn the dinette into a bed at night.
Under the back beds/lounge area is even more storage totaling 4 storage compartments that can hold an impressive amount. (One of these is accessible from the outside and a great place for your leveling blocks; wheel covers; hose; etc.)
The back of the Airstream has a built-in desk that we used to house a double-monitor work station, but could also be used for a TV or a place to set your laptop.
Under the desk there is a special spot for your laundry basket, keeping it near the bathroom and out of the way.
Broom storage is tucked away out of sight (yet within reach) in between the kitchen and bathroom walls.
We choose to make this Airstream all electric. This allowed us to have one less thing to worry about (no worry’s about running out of propane!). It also allowed us to replace the small old propane RV fridge with a larger residential fridge. This enabled us to stock up at more affordable (chain) grocery stores before heading to remote locations where groceries were scarce or expensive (prices at Grand Canyon Village floored us!!).
The narrow bookshelf was built to house our kids’ books and road school materials (all while not sacrificing the floor space up front). It would also work great as a storage spot for electronics; snacks; or anything else that you could think of.
Outside there is the classic Airstream trunk which houses a new extra long 50amp hook up with room for your surge protector and adapters.
The 30 gallon grey, fresh, and black tanks levels can be monitored via the sensor control panel inside the kitchen cabinet right next to the front door. Hoses for emptying the tanks are stored below the airstream right next to the release valve for convenience.
The exterior has been recently stripped of clear coat and fading decals, and polished.
The small awning are original to the RV, however the front awning (which runs the length of the Airstream) is only two years old. It was replaced by Airstream, and two solar guards were installed (for the front two side windows) at the same time (middle is the original solar/rock guard).
We bought this Airstream for the cool factor and to help our family travel across the United States. We have made so new many friends, seen so many beautiful places and shared so many wonderful experiences together as a family. It’s hard for us to let this labor of love go, but baby number 3 is on the way and we have some new adventures in mind that would be better had in something larger. We will miss our shiny burrito, but know that she can take someone else on so many wonderful adventures enjoying the great outdoors. Be warned, a vintage Airstream is a conversation starter and a great way to make friends at RV parks!
