Title: 1982 Airstream 280 28 - Texas
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
Classic 1982 Airstream Excella 28 ft. Transmission is rebuilt. Motorhome equipped with Chevy 454 engine that runs excellent and only has 47K miles. Dual roof a/c. Serviced 6.5 Onan generator. Rear bathroom. Runs great, clean Texas title, currently not registered. This is a work in progress! Awesome top of the line vintage Airstream to use or customize. Ive started ordering parts for it to restore it! If your interested in it I'll have to ask more for it as I go along to cover the parts that I've paid for! I have removed all the coolers and radiator and had them refurbished! I have some of the window seals and slides from Airstream. Started stripping the clear coat to polish exterior!
I have replaced water pump, thermostat, hoses, batteries, front drivers and passenger seats, rebuilt carburetor, all fluids changed. I have put back the fuel tank but haven't put fuel in it yet, waiting to get all the other things done before letting fuel sit! I have driven it at highway speeds but tires need to be replaced! The last thing to do is replace the tires! Resealed all lower outside storage compartments and painted. All lights inside and out are working!
I had planned (and plans changed)on taking on this project after I retire in a few years but have bought new Motorhome and using it now. The Airstream actually out performs my new MH. The tires on it are good enough to get it on a trailer and haul off but are not good enough for safe travel. It's for sale only to recoup my money and free up some space which I can easily do with or without! If sold at this point in time, it should be trailered to buyers location at buyers expense!
