I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
This is a 1978 Airstream in fair to good condition but not perfect by all means.
Pros
like new Zip Dee awning 21ft over $1000 new
Double Aluminum step needs 1 support arm and two bolts to fix about $30, step is $695 new to replace
oven works
Fridge works Dometic gas and electric
Body in great shape a dent on the rear street side and a few small dents
All of the tambour slides are in place most work smooth a couple are stiff
Bathroom is like new the previous owners since 93 never showered in it and all of the plastic is in great shape
Aluminum wheels all around
40 gallon LP tanks
New carpet
Original Gaucho couch still functions
All windows work with no cracks or damage
This would be a great first restore or with minimal work would be a great vintage trailer with almost everything still original and re-usable.
No leaks on any walls or windows.
tows awesome and electric breaks appear to be working well
CONS
Typical floor damage at the rear and some up front, somewhat easy fix with the rear beds as there is no plumbing or electrical to contend with. Plenty of info on the web for this fix
Dent on rear, could possibly be about 90% removed by a professional which I am not.
A/C not working
Water heater not working.
Crack in fiberglass cap in living room
This is all I really know about this camper as I have only owned a few months, I was going to restore it myself but just finished a 65 and with two very young kids I don't have time right now or foresee any in the future. In my opinion this is an easy restore as you could do the minimum and be camping in no time or for a full restore. Every time I go in this camper it makes me not want to sell it but I have too.
