1973 Airstream Argosy 24 - British Columbia

Title: 1973 Airstream Argosy 24 - British Columbia
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

PENDING SALE

$35,000 CDN

This beautiful coach is completely refitted.
It was designed and outfitted for extended long distance travel, it has solar, huge tanks, huge charger/inverter, tons of storage. A gracious, top quality refit.

The Argosy trailer is a rare model of Airstream that came painted from the factory.
Essentially they are the same as an Airstream in most other ways. A wonderful difference is the huge panorama front windows.
Completely stripped out and all new cabinetry in solid oak and oak veneer ply. Converted to rear bedroom with full double bed. Street side shower / bathroom with slate drained floor. Stainless bowl sink. To curbside a large dresser with drawers on premium soft close tracks. Large hanging locker. Huge storage under bed.
All new galley with butcher block countertop, undermount stainless steel sink, new Suburban stove, new Norcold fridge. Large dinette, with solid oak multi leaf table than converts to full double bed.
The dinette table can reduce to allow eating for two and leave the balance of the dinette seats as couches, or expand to seat 6, or remove altogether for facing couches.

- Coach bodywork done and new paint, rolled on but nice, spring 2014
- All the aluminium trim was stripped and polished.
- New outside rear locker under rear bed provides huge storage.
- New side locker under bed for generator.
- New axles, springs, brakes, spring 2014
- New wheels and tires, summer 2013

- New 30 lb propane tanks, spring 2017.
- New custom upholstery, fall 2016

Original style Zip Dee awning in good condition except plastic drum endcaps are missing.

All the screens are out.
The belly pan was removed and the banana wrap will need some tidying in a few spots.
The original plywood floor is in excellent shape
The frame is in excellent shape.

The trailer probably weighs a few hundred pounds over stock, but not all that much more as some of the original equipment is pretty heavy. Travelling with a full water tank will add a few pounds but it's just ahead of the axle now not at the very front. much nicer balance. I've towed it before and after the refit and didn't notice much change.

Original weights are...
Tongue - 560 lbs
Trailer - 3610 lbs

Our very clean 2001 4.3 V6 GMC Jimmy with tow package and brake controller is also available for $3000 CDN

More photos and video coming...

The coach is in Victoria BC Canada.

Looking

We live in Dhahran,. Saudi Arabia, but are Canadian expats. We have just purchased a property on Savary Island and Jare looking for a unit like this to use as an additional accomodation on our family property.

I will be back in Parksville area Aug 31 - Sept 9th if we could arrange a viewing if still available?

Any way someone could tow to Comox if we purchase? I do not have a truck but could get it towed to Lund then barged to property?
