Title: 1973 Airstream Ambassador 29 - Maine
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1973 29' Airstream Ambassador, rear bed, center bath. Propane fridge. Bought this Airstream this past August for $4500. I was told all systems were in good working order. There not :(
The exterior is very good but for a dent in the front side and a bottom panel that needs to be secured or replaced. Took the Airstream to a local RV guy and the frame and exterior lights are good but only one break was functioning.
There's one plumbing leak somewhere beneath the stove/sink area. I didn't even try to turn on the hot water. I also didn't try to turn on the furnace for heat. I don't want to mess with propane and I couldn't get a rv repair man out to test it. All the electrical, inside and out was working-till I plugged into a bad outlet and fried the converter. Now the overhead lights are super dim. The fridge and stove work great, but one day I smelled propane so I shut everything off since there's a leak somewhere.
I lived in this Airstream for a few months while my house was being worked on. Even with all the issues I considered keeping it but the main reason I'm letting it go is its maxing out the towing capacity of my truck.
