1972 Airstream Safari

We are the 3rd owner the first kept it completely in its original form.

The second owner planned to become a sister on the fly so she painted, re upholstered, had a cost on table created and fit it to her general liking. But never took it out due to a death in the family.

When we bought it, it was winterized and solid. Neither my husband or I are very handy or as it turns out comfortable driving with such a large thing in tow. We set up a towing package and took her out a few times but only used it as a bedroom. When we first bought it we took it to Moscow RV and they set everything up for use, but after taking it out once we were worried that if we used any of the appliances or plumbing and then didn t turn things off or empty them out correctly that it would cause permanent damage so we took it back and had him winterize it again and continued to use the trailer as simply a bedroom using onsite facilities for hygiene and food preparation. I think we hope the good side of that is that everything is function able and ready to be set up.

There are a couple large dents in the aluminum skin as well as many little dents. Nothing that has caused leakage or structural issues. The electric jack motor has burnt out. When we asked the manufacturer what they would suggest as a replacement they recommended a manual jack. Knowing we would be selling we chose to leave that for the buyer to decide and adjusted the price. The other reason for the low price is, before it travels awful far it would need to be taken to the tire store in Colfax and have the tires checked out. We haven t been able to move it since our truck broke down last year.

For a 50 year old airstream it is a really good price but that is because those things will need to be done. It is 18ft long in the bed and 23ft long including the hitch and tail bumper. It sleeps 5 there are two twin benches one slides out as a double bed. The table also doubles as a double bed.

It has air conditioner, heater, satellite no television tho twin fans bidirectional. The fridge and stove run off propane. There is a new Stereo and leveling system. Original propane tanks.....hmmmmm I think that might just cover it. Oh from the kitchen to the bathroom there is a very skinny carpet. Under the dining table is fake hardwood, and the bathroom is the original material on the floor.
