Title: 1969 Airstream
Sovereign 31 - Washington
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
ORIGINAL 1969
SOVEREIGN INTERNATIONAL (***PRICE REDUCED***)
TRUE BARN FIND...STORED IN BARN SINCE LAST LICENSED IN 2001.
PROS:
All 120vac electrical works.
Brakes work great.
12vdc converter works.
Armstrong a/c blow cold (not cool, COLD).
Water Htr. works.
Airstream "Custom" oven works.
Wheel bearings run cool...pulled trailer 40 miles, totally cool.
Axles show positive angle.
Original speakers
Antenna crank intact.
Water pump works.
All plumbing intact.
Trailer Ball 2-5/16" needed for this trailer.
Original window controls work.Has all new window molding in box with receipt from Inland RV,California
Stove works.
Airstream control console...intact but wires disconnected.
Cabinets in nice condition.
Roof and underbelly in very good condition.
Body is in good condition. Dimple on left rear and dimple/scratch on right rear. Dimples would mostly pop out with suction puller. They are not bad at all for her age.
Large propane tanks.
Trailer dry weight is 5000 lbs.
CONS:
Original Suburban heater looks used very little...needs T-couple.
Screen door needs re-screening...has new roll of screen in closet, ready to go.
Floor has soft spot 6 inches out from bathroom sink. Rest of floor feels very solid.
Dometic fridge gets cool, not cold. Can hear ammonia circulating. Only tried electrical, not gas.
Front vent fan plastic cover is gone. Fan works good, low & high.
A/C shroud needs paint or replacing.
Curtains = Shop rags !
All in All, This trailer is an original gem of a find. It can be used now with very little work or easily restored without breaking the bank. If I wasn't in the middle of restoring our
1966 Ambassador, I'd keep her !
Thanks, Dan
