I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1967 Airstream Soverign - THE ONLY ONE MADE - 3 doors on port side - Gutted for remodel. We are told by the factory that they believe this unit was made by the factory without blueprints, for the
1968 New York Jamboree. It was built for factory executives as a sales office/break area. After use it was sold and spent the majority of its life as a private camper in New Jersey in one spot as a fishing lodge. It then sold and ended up in Kansas and finally towed to California 3 years ago. It was gutted to be remodeled as a mobile sales unit for my wife's retail business. She found a store front in the Napa Valley and now it has sat in my back yard long enough!
It will have to be transported to its new home as I would not trust its current running gear. Someone with the Airstream restoration knowledge would have no issue making this a dream unit. with the flexibility of the 3 doors it would make an excellent mobile retail unit, permanent campground unit or private camping trailer.
All original interior parts of value were retained and will be included but the 30, 30 gallon bags of squirrel droppings and acorns in the insulation have been disposed of. Exterior body is in very good work with only the back end, 1 panel, needing a bit of work. Structural frame assessment by folks in the know say it can be dipped and treated and used as it with just some replacement around the steps.
Our plan was to dip the frame, replace the running gear and redo the interior. Exterior was going to get a police and then put her on the road. We want to find her a good home but I am not opposed to transporting to our new home, doing the work and selling at a big mark up. I just don't have the time or energy. Give her a look and give us a reasonable offer. You can take the equity!
NOTE - The attached images are at time of purchase 3 years ago. aside from the fore and aft interior caps she is now gutted with just the original wiring in place.
