1966 Airstream Tradewind 24 - Colorado

Title: 1966 Airstream Tradewind 24 - Colorado
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

1966 Airstream Trade Wind 24’, Twin Bed, Rear Bath S/N: J0246043 $27,700
Weights: 4100 pounds dry, tongue weight 450 pounds

Your chance to own a 51 year old Jackson Center built vintage Airstream that’s ready to go. It comes with the clear title, original owner’s manual, sales brochure and few old rally decals. I purchased this Airstream the fall of 2013 and proceeded to renovate it to a comfortable “travel ready” status. I have photos and receipts of all the work that was done, and it is pretty extensive, like 1200 enjoyable hours of my time. I’ve owned Airstreams since ’05. All systems work great. Stepping into this old Airstream will take you back to the mid-sixties. It still has that vintage look inside and out. Be ready for lots of attention at your favorite campground. In summary, here are my renovations from the ground up:

New axles, brakes and bearings. The tires are 6 years old
New POR-15 paint on the frame to guard against rust
New belly pan and new under floor foam board insulation
New floor in bathroom to replace the rotted out one
New rear bathroom with new toilet, vanity, cabinets, shower
New 26 gallon black and gray water tanks with dump valves
New electrical circuit breaker box and 12v fuse box
New 6 gal water heater
New fresh water tank and new water pump
New PEX plumbing throughout
New refrigerator, new 3 burner cooktop, new microwave/convection oven
New kitchen faucet The original proclaim sinks are in great shape
New 30k BTU furnace
New propane copper tubing throughout
New vinyl plank floor covering
New electric tongue jack
New LED tail lights, marker lights, umbilical cord and 7 pin plug
Pressure leak tested, all leaks fixed. Inside storage since 2013
Exterior stripped and polished (Jestco polish job not great)

Here is what the trailer still needs:

Curtains, we never did get curtains made for it.
Mattresses. We are using standard twin size 75x39 mattresses, but it takes a 75x34 RV mattress. You can spec the mattresses you are most comfortable on.
Bring your own hitch, or you can by my equalizer style hitch already on it for $500.
It does not have an awning, you might like one for it.
This trailer uses two folding chairs around the table. Ikea sells nice ones.

There are no dirty secrets with this trailer. You will know about all of it when you come to see it. I would never deceive anyone. You will have receipts and photos of all the work that was done. The frame is in great shape. The body is in great shape. All the Corning curved glass windows work and don’t leak. The 1999 DuoTherm air conditioner blows cold. It tows like an Airstream, which is great. It is easy to handle.

You can make this trailer even better with your decorating and trailering skills. You will thoroughly enjoy it as a completely different travel trailer for your adventures. I predict it will hold its value.

Email me at dbj216@gmail.com We will set up a time for a phone call to answer all your questions, or make an appointment to see the trailer.
You can contact us by filling in the form on the right hand column of the ad listing:

1966 Airstream Tradewind 24 - Colorado

Hi,
We saw the 1966 Tradewind Airstream you had on the Airstream Classifieds web page We were to late to come and see it. We were wondering if you have found a new
"Project" to work on. We have a 1963 Bambi that we love but would like something a little bigger. We appreciate all the info you wrote about the Tradewind. We get frustrated when
someone lists a trailer and gives no details or no pictures. We are still looking. We live in Colorado Springs. Thanks for any info you might give us. Gary & Ginger
