Title:
1965 Airstream Globetrotter 20 - Washington
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
I bought this three years ago with the intent of doing an full restoration. I'm never going to find the time so I just want to get my money liquid again and let someone else have a go at it. Clean title.
The shell metal is in excellent shape so no need for any aluminum metal work. In
1965 the factory was coating the shells with clear coat which means most of the aluminum never got oxidized. So, strip the old clear coat off and with the great skin the thing will look shiny beautiful.
This is a good starting point for someone who wants to do a restoration where they will be completely updating the insides. The original internals were mostly removed when I started restoring it; nothing left besides the sink and such. The plywood sub-floor needs replacing but that can be done without taking the shell off the trailer. In other words, this is an intermediate level restoration platform.
The window rock guard is there, physically, but if you go all the way on the restoration, you'll want to pick up a freshie:

Here's the original manual:

I originally has this for sale at $7500 which is what I paid for it. Seems I overpaid. Oh, well, folks more informed than I say $6000 is more realistic, OBO.
