Airstream Globetrotter 19 - New York
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
** Sale Pending **
** Updated photos showing our recent progress **
Here's a great opportunity for a winter project just in time to get started before the bad weather sets in.
We have decided to part with our vintage Airstream in favor of a modern one. This trailer is in the middle of restoration with a lot of work done and a lot of work left to do. The trailer was very nice before the restoration began with a complete original bath, closets and 2 couches (see last 4 photos). The kitchen cabinets had been "fixed up" (by the previous owner) with modern fridge and microwave and the heater removed. It has a modern Dometic air conditioner and Atwood water heater.
The shell was in good shape before the restoration started but does have a small dent on the rear cap and a modest one over the door.
The trailer has been stripped down to the bare frame and the rusty frame pieces removed and replaced with new cross-members and outriggers. I also closed off the frame rails behind the axle for increased strength.
What's been redone: chassis, windows and frames. What's new: axle, hubs, brakes, floor (marine plywood), belly pan, gray water tank, window regulators.
The package includes everything removed (except the rusty bits, decayed belly pan, rotted floor, corroded plumbing, old wiring and kitchen cabinet). I have all the trim pieces labeled and all old fasteners bagged/labeled.
