Rub Rail ?

This is my first post. I have a 2012 Eddie Bauer. I bought used about 3 months ago. The Right fender came off with the original owner. The left side isn't far behind. the double sided tape is failing. I feel it looks better of but I have about a 6 inch section that now needs Rub- rail to clean up the look. I can find the exterior rubrail on out of doors mart with the double sided tape. I cannot find the part that attaches to the camper and then what the Rub rail is taped to. Thanks for your time

Ok.. you are missing the 'beltline' trim.. looks like previous owner had a tire let go or other damage in the area. Rather than remove the whole length of the beltline and replace, they cut it off shorter... a hack of a fix..

So you will have to get the replacement beltline, pull off the 'insert', drill out all the rivets from the remaining length to the next section where it started. I looked on outofdorrsmart.com they did not have the metal 'beltline' rail that I could see.. they have the 'insert' which is the chrome thing in the center.. chances are, the 'insert' is barely stuck to the beltline rail...

You may have to find them from Airstream directly.

Did you replace the exterior green rubrail? How bad is it to replace?

"replace" of the rail is not difficult.. drill out the old rivets, pull off the old rail, drill the NEW holes in the NEW rail is the 'hard part'... getting them to line up... but it is worth it.. and can be done.

Rivet in the new rail, replace the center trim... go camping.

Actually I was referring to the plastic/rubber insert in the rubrail. Not sure if its adhesive, taped, or other. Just me being vain... I have a blacked out truck and was looking to replace the (in my opinion) god awful green band that runs around the EB model with black. That and a quick paint job on the emblem and the trailer matches the truck.

Didn't know they offered two AC units with the 25' EB's. Nice!

I don't know if they do... but the photo is a 27' EB with (2) AC units.

That would look nice ... but save the removed vinyl for the next owner in case they don't have the same taste ... otherwise it might depreciate their possible purchase ...

We need the middle rub rail-green band- replaced- the mold or sun aging is horrible. Any idea where we can get the green color?
Our 3rd Airstream is been a 2011 25' Eddie Bauer...and I have to vent a bit that whatever quality grade aluminum they used that year stinks- another Airstreamer said they had used inferior aluminum that gets the filiform corrosion worse than other years and there have been many complaints- I had read it might have been caused by mishandling installation of exterior accessories too- either way our2003 and 2004 never had these issues. We have always had minor Galvanic corrosion on any place where they have metal to metal-but this 2011 certainly wins the prize and I wish Airstream would take responsibility,

Auto repair places can point you to a good internet supplier. I wonder if it could be painted. Possibly more trouble and time spent to do the making tape thing than you'd have just replacing it. And is that band 1/2 or 5/8 of an inch?

If I recall correctly that band is 5/8.
I have been using a grey peel and stick pin striping type tape to cover the old insert. Unfortunately the tape is a 1/2 inch and does not completely cover the insert. That is offset by the grey colour of the unfinished rub rail (if you gently scrape off the old rub rail finish it is grey underneath). It’s barely noticeable.
I believe the next size up for the tape is 3/4inch so one could use that in your choice of many different colours and finishes, then razor off the excess.
It’s pretty easy to do at maybe a 1 out of 5 for difficulty but removing the old insert finish takes some time and gentle scraping with a sharp utility knife.
YMMV
Kevin

Wondering if you have contacted Airstream to inquire if this part is still available? Part number is 203713, color is called Moss according to the 2015 International parts book.

I reglued my left fender with silkoflex black, it was starting to pull away.
There is double sided tape holding yours on?
I was told to use stainless screws this time where the original screws fell out.
This came from Airstream factory, probably a new guy that didn't know, there are fenders, fenders without mounting holes or brackets.

My chrome insert is going bad, some of the adhesive released and was dragging along behind, I reglued using 3M weather strip cement.
