Overview Over the last 5 years, we completely overhauled the original twin-bed, rear bath Airstream Excella II that we acquired from my wife's family in Texas. Had professional help from Silver Moose in Maine replacing all wiring, replacing inner skin, adding new A/C and water heater, and installing basic walls/ kitchen cabinet framing. We took over in July 2021, and it became a project we chipped away at, week by week, with my father who is a general contractor/ carpenter.
Exterior

New stone guard
New stabilizers
Rebuilt all double pane windows
Replaced all screens
Replaced all exterior lights with LEDs
New power jack hitch
New outside shower
Replaced fresh water access point
Added new rub rails & rub rail blue plastic

Completely new inner aluminum skin
Completely new electrical, AC + DC
All lights changed to LED, with all overhead lights on dimmer switches
Custom dinette with custom-made Sunbrella fabric cushions
Added Atwood dual water heater
Added water tank monitor and Shurflo pump / components
Converted to custom-built composting toilet, with black tank cleaned and repurposed into extra gray tank
Created a custom-built fiberglass shower with seat (over the driver’s side wheel well)
Installed new DC-power fridge (so closed off fridge exterior venting)
Switched to induction hot plate for cooking in prep for solar / boondocking
Used Baltic Birch as primary wood for walls, with pine facings. Oak in a few places where structural strength required.

Switched this twins/ rear bath to a bathroom near the middle of Airstream. Bedroom moved to back with a short Queen instead of twins

One of the biggest 2023 challenges was building the new custom fiberglass shower pan and seat.
