Now that is what you call patina. Are you sure it wasn't chanting "O money to me come"? Regardless, it's a real treasure and will be a knockout when it is finished.

It's more like paintina. The shell was actually painted white at some time. Most of it has come off and the rest is covered in some sort of funky lifeform found usually on the side of trees.

BB gets a bath

Frank just sent me an e-mail with some pics. He was able to spend some time on the Buddha Baby and gave her a bath and cleaned out the contents. The pics are quite startling as the years of gunk come off to reveal the painted shell. I have a feeling that the grass at FTW will start to really grow now that all that fertilizer is on the ground.
Here is what it looked like before the bath:

Kudo's the Frank and Wayne for a job well done. Removing a couple of decades of growth and all that junk must ahve been a nasty job.
She's actually starting to look better already.

Nice cleaning job! It'll be sweet when she's done. Lots of potential!

Wow it's been three months since I posted on this thread.
There is some progress to report.
The title has finally arrived. We used atitle service to do this. It was quite painless and very inexpensive.
New axles were ordered a month ago from Inland RV. (yes TOP I know I'm a schmuck ). They should be on there way to Baltimore any day now. Two axles with a 3500 lbs rating and 12" brakes.
The new tires are there waiting for axles to mount them on. I bought 4 wide white wall 7.00 X15 LT radials. One small problem is that Vintage Trailer Supply is out of stock on the new rims. They won't be in stock until mid October, they do have the baby moon hubcaps though.

Frank spent some time this week pulling the old swamp cooler off the roof. It was not a factory install. He has installed a temporary vent in it's place.

Once the axles and the rims arrive and Frank has some time he will be installing them and getting all the lights and brakes operational. I will then be towing it home so I can title it here in Canada. Then it will return to Baltimore after he finishes the 1947 Liner I will be bringing to him.
i want the 47 done first as it is such a cool and rare trailer.

I forgot I went on a mini recovery today. A very nice couple who live in Ontario placed an ad in the classifieds to sell 2 30lb Worthington aluminium propane tanks. They also had a Sealand china toiler for sale. We reached an agreemnt and today I drove 2 hrs to meet them on there way to the US. I got a great deal on both the tanks and the toilet.
The tanks were revalved last year with OPD valves and they also have guages installed.

Well Chris,

I now know where those pics came from on my Relapse thread. Looks like they tried to use all the rest of the jalousie windows they had for that year on this trailer

Hi Steve from what I understand back then you could custom order the trailer built to your wishes. The original purchaser must have been in love with jalousie's. I think you could also order the floor plan altered to siut your tastes.
I think it's so cool with all those windows like that. Frank tells me that they all work great but of course they will all need rebuilding to seal them up and they will also be polished.
BTW you know the couple that sold me the tanks and terlet. Annie & Marvin with the 79 30ft Argosy.

That AC unit looks EXACTLY like one I had on a houseboat...made by AC Delco! Ugly as homemade sin but ran like a rabid monkey.

Isn't schlep a verb? I think you really meant "schlub" but now I'm putting words in your mouth.

So which of your collection will we be meeting when you stop at our place? Can I expect to see a couple of them in October or should I be content with pictures at this point? If you happen to spot a great little one on your journey, just hitch it up and drag it in. I will tell my husband it just followed you here.

You have some great plans for your treasures and we have lots of questions for you when you arrive. I should ask what your consultant fees are first though. Send the number of questions we can ask and the limit we are not to exceed so we don't get too carried away.
