Don't get me wrong
I think the 21 ft Sovereign is the greatest. Really!! You will have to let us all know how you handle the headliner problem. It has been mentioned a lot here....I went thru it too. There are some good ideas here, but I am sure you will end up having to remove the interior in order to do it right. There are many good and talented folks with ideas for you here.

Yes, it's already coming down. Fortunately I own a large sheet metal, machining and powder coating company so I've got a few ideas about aluminum panels 
I'll get some pictures of her this weekend, we had to tow it home in the rain last night so she needs a bath now!

We have a '95 that's doing the same thing with the headliner. The plan is to take it down and remove the backing that's left via Goo Gone, leaving it bare aluminum. (Don't do what I did originally - try to use more screws to hold it up - it doesn't work and then you'll have screw holes to deal with when you try the next thing.)

As others have said, NOT doing a good bit of driveway camping is what would be seen as strange. By all means (if your HOA will allow), install a 30 amp hookup from your garage (sufficient to power your trailer & AC) and enjoy your new wonderful new adventure. I store my '54 Cruiser under a roofed shed attached to the side of my barn, maybe 100 ft. from my front door. I frequently go out there at all times of the day or night, to relax & listen to some music, read, nap or spend the night. Whenever the house is over run with family or friends staying overnight, they get the house & I gladly sleep in the 'Stream . Enjoy your Soverign as much and as often as you can.

Well we did our first night of "driveway camping" last night. 
We slept in until 10:30!! We never sleep in like that! 
Don cooked us breakfast, everything seems to be working. I think we'll load all of our camping gear up this weekend and head down to Big Sur next weekend for a real test run.

Congrats on your new streamer! You will have so much fun. We will be living in our 30' Airstream at Pinnacles National Park to volunteer starting Feb. 15. Maybe you can come south from Hollister to camp at Pinnacles. Some great hiking in the Park.

Pinnacles is only 30 minutes from us... It's a great place to hike, decent rock climbing but sadly the campground in not the greatest... RV's are only allowed in the full hook up areas which are three large circles with no real trees or privacy...
Now the car / tent camping area is really nice with lots of trees and shrubs separating each campsite. When we had our Lance camper we could camp in that area as the viewed us as just the truck, not an RV.

congrats!!! good looking trailer and that's a nice truck!!! V10 2nd gen? It looks like is time for a cummins upgrade!! with a 10mpg on the V10 you will love the cummins fuel economy!

Yea, the Cummins is a nice motor for sure! The sound of a Cummins turbo spooling up sure does make my heart race! 
We’ve had two of them in the past. We had a 2000 4x4 short bed, fully loaded with a Banks kit, we regularly saw 18MPG out of it. Sadly the auto tranny kept giving us problems so in 2008 we upgraded to a new one with a 6.7 Cummins...
Now that was a truck! A swear it would pull a house from it's foundation and with the built in exhaust brake it would stop fully loaded on a dime! Oddly the 2008 was a pig on fuel, 10 to 12 MPG at best!  (Too much smog crap!)
About a year ago I was just sure we were not using our Dodge, Lance camper and Jeep enough so I sold them all and bought the sexist black Porsche 997 Carrera S a 40-year old could dream of! (Insert mid-life crisis joke here!)
Well within three months I had to borrow my friend’s pick-up three times for silly runs to the dump, home depot and so on… I quickly came to the conclusion that everyone who lives in the country needs a truck so I started looking for something used and inexpensive. I found our current Dodge in sad shape but picked it up for $4000! I still had the aftermarket rims and tires from our 2008, I found a wrecked truck with leather so I swapped all of the interior. It’s still a work in progress, however since we only drive it once a month or so, I’ll put up with the mileage of the V-10.
