FoD - Ptown and Ogunquit options

I am curious if any of our northeastern based (or travelled to) cousins could offer any recommendations around good RV park experiences in/around PTown or Ogunquit/Wells. When living there, I just took the high speed ferry out from Boston; but am hankering to visit friends in the area once summer season winds down a bit. I am towing a 28' so am concerned on lengths and experiences of others. Also, I remember just off commercial street there seemed a parking lot (zero hookups) sardine crammed option which does not appear in rvparkreviews or in the AllStays directory - anyone have insight into the contact details therein?

Hello Ian,

I've camped in P-Town many times. There's 2 campgrounds in town. Dune's Edge is by far the prettier, it's right off route 6 just before you come into town, it sits in the dunes so there's lot's of shade. Not sure how easy it would be for a 28 footer though. Mine is only 22 and it's tight. You might want to check with them first. Also their hookups are limited to 20 amp so you can't use your AC. The other option is Coastal Acres, it's on the other end of town but easily bikeable into town. 28 foot would not be a problem and they have 30/50 amp. This place isn't quite as charming as Dune's Edge but it's a perfectly nice, convenient place to stay.

The only place I've stayed in Ogunquit is Beaver Dam 9 (very nice, on a lake) in Berwick, a bit of drive to the center of town but there's not a lot much closer.

Thanks James - yeah, Ogunquit with its community, artists and Kennedy-wanna-be's is my old stomping ground when I lived in the Boston area (before the dot-com crash...). I even met George and Barbara Bush there once (they came in on two high speed cigarette boats, her beehive hair slung over from the wind. The first thing each did when they pulled into the little harbor and docked was George went directly into the crowd of tourists to talk and shake hands while Barbara made a bee-line directly to the lobster rolls shack.
