You can "what if" anything to death. I've seen, and used, handymen for years and generally been more satisfied than with the "professional" shops work. Go for it. If you do good work you will have more jobs than you can handle. A magnetic sign on your truck will be followed by word of mouth.

We would travel in our Airstream camp at or near Airstream that needs service, tools and carry common spare parts in TV.

Probably not do skin repair, but almost anything else.

Have CDL so can tow, or haul unit if needed. eg repairs that cannot be done on site.

Thoughts please. At this time it is an exploratory exercise and am not offering this as an offer of service.

However, If you would be interested please let me know type of general type of work: repair, custom interior, electrical, seasonal, winterize, dewinterize or preventative maintenance.

Note this is not Factory authorized, does not include warranty work.

Thanks for your feedback fellow Airforums!

I am sure my Retirement will include my Airstream, but will this idea allow me to retire early?
If your ever near madason Florida I could use your repair skills eugene 9179957962

Our local mobile airstream repair guy just retired. I would use you if you were in our area. My dealership is a 4-hour round trip drive. Maybe you could also charge for over the hone advice if you couldn’t get close to the person. (Ours would do that for free, but I wouldn’t expect that from others.)

WHEW! Thank all y'all who responded so thoughtfully and well.
Now my response can be short and sweet.

Run Forrest, RUN!

Simple little retirement hobby-jobs like that will kill you if you are lucky, and bankrupt you if you are not. Go to work FOR one of those businesses and listen!

hand out your biz card at the dealerships and at the factory. if you buy an airstream you could follow the new owner kinda of like an ambulance chaser, ha ha. it won't be long and it will need repair, just like an sob.

Maybe spending time with one of the companies that renovate AS.

Maybe apply for a job at Airstream. They are expanding the factory.

Maybe start a business delivering ASs from the factory to the dealers.

Maybe work a construction job for six months and travel the other six months.

Maybe find a job running an RV park with RV repair on the side.

Maybe find a job installing an RV product that sells at major rallies.

Maybe. ...................

Good luck with your retirement. Pat
