New Airstreamer here..

I have a couple of questions.
1. What is a "Rivet" member ?
2. I am buying a 2010 Flying Cloud. With an equalizer hitch, will I be able to tow the unit with my 1999 Jeep V8, with factory towing package ? It seems that the maximum Jeep towing weight is 6300lbs. The trailer exceeds this amount by roughly 1000lbs. Also the tongue weight on the Jeep is 630 and the tongue weight on the trailer is 976 (??) I don't plan on mountain climbing with this combo, but I need to move the trailer from Delaware to Tampa. If I take it nice and slow, will this work ? Thanks for all info.

Take Mikes advice, get some experts help., I can over look a few hundred lbs,, but 1000 lbs is a lot to over look.. We call that in the real world,, a 1/2 ton..

Its not so much horsepower but chassis and springs,, brakes.. Your hitch weight itself would be the down fall I fear more than the trailer weight overall..

Better to be on the safe side than the wild side.. And trust me when I say when things get out of shape it can get wild real fast.

Welcome to the group!!! Great questions! I'd go along with Mike and Sodbust's advice to call the experts/professionals.

Good luck and best wishes for a wonderful and safe trip to Florida!

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

What size is this Flying Cloud? If it's a 25 or larger, the Jeep may be outmatched.
