Extra counter under television
The area under the television at the end of the lounge is underused. I would like to add an extra counter that would fold out from the wall. It would be ideal for cooking. I imagine something like the foldout flap on the end of the counter near the door, but longer. Ideally it would have two "flaps" hinged together to make it longer than the one by the door.
Has anyone done anything like this?

Mount a slide rail type mount, and a matching bracket for the table, along with a hinged leg that would fold down for further support. That way, you can simply lift it off and store it out of the way when you're not using it.

I moved the useless flip up counter next to the sink onto the wall below the TV. It is now our coffee station. The Nespresso fits nicely.

I too wanted an extra shelf in the same area under the TV set. I bought a new Corian table top that matches the flip up shelf next to the sink and mounted the that under the TV with flip up hinges. It looks like it is supposed to be there and is super functional.
Looks great, I must say!

Thanks all for the tips. I'm still open for more!
Overlander: great idea. We're working on it, but not sure we want a leg hitting the cushion below. We'll probably use a hinge like the one next to the sink.
Joe: we use the one next to the sink, but I'm glad it works.
Bluto, That's a good fix. I have Formica, not Corian, so I think I'll use a cutting board or have Corian make something that fits the wall pattern.

extra counter
Here is what we did to our 25fb. Remove one section of the couch cushions. Replace with a cabinet which provides additional interior storage as well as a usable surface. Cost about $350.

JandD,
Like your cabinet. Did you do the work yourselves? We'd appreciate any more information. Plans, measurements, etc. would be great.
Thanks in advance,
GayandDan

We put our dog crate there and her container of dog goodies sets on top of that and is still under the television.

We did the same thing only we have drawers. a local cabinet maker made ours, I went to Jackson Center and got matching laminate for top and sides along with the pulls, it looks factory original. One of the best additions that we have done.

Castaway,
Would you be willing to provide more info? Parts list, photos, etc. would be much appreciated. Your cabinet sounds ideal.
Thanks,
GayandDan

We remodeled our AS to add a cabinet rather than the under used end of the sofa. We also did a lot of other changes to make our AS more comfortable. We love it![ATTACH]346472

Removed cushions and put in a cabinet
I did this:

Easy to restore to original as no modifications needed to lounge base.

We did lose the pull out bed, but we never used it. We also converted the queen bed to twins, added two cabinets at the end of the twins and made the night stand a crate for our pups. The crate extends under the head of one of the twin beds; a smaller storage area under the head of the other twin still remains accessible from the outside.[ATTACH]346501[ATTACH]346502[ATTACH]346503
