Our hold-up (as usual) is trying to get our house ready for company while we are gone. Having a house at the beach is great, but we get a lot of visitors while we are on the road in Lucy. Accordingly, we have to leave the house clean when we take off. We already have four sets of company coming in the next two months.

I plan to start a Lucy trip thread in the next couple of days.

It's not as bad as it sounds. The rule is "leave it like you found it" as we usually have several sets of guests at our house while we are out on long Lucy adventures. Everyone complies, but we have to get it decent for the first group coming in.

Brian,
I have the same issue as Fred. Not sure when ours was built but we bought it in March. It does not look like there is an easy way to put the screen on but I will pull cover off tomorrow. We just set up camp for the weekend in Point Lookout State Park in Maryland and I will have all day tomorrow to tinker.

We bought New Lucy on October 2nd, 2014. I'm not sure how long she had been on the dealer's lot. New Lucy's VIN ends in 531020, and I believe that this number is sequential by date of manufacture. New Lucy was probably one of the early 2015's.

Twin Beds

I am looking at a 2011 FC25FB with a queen bed. I would like to know what is involved with replacing it with twin beds? Has anyone taken on this task, with suggestions. Thanks, Ralph

Making this change is somewhat complicated in that it would require the relocation of the converter and removal of the drawers under the short wardrobe. It would also require refinishing of the floor and reconfiguration of the outside storage locker. Some wiring would have to be moved and a nigt stand cabinet would have to be built.

None of this is impossible, but would be somewhat costly if you had to have the work done.

We have had both the queen and the twin configuration in our 25FB's. Even though we prefer the twins, the queen is great also.

Thanks Brian- guess that answers my question. Too complicated and expensive. I'll keep looking for a twin FC.

Brian,
I must have missed the email. You know the one with the dates blocked out for us to stay at your house. Please resend them when you have a chance.

Pics of the wasp cover for the heater on my 20'. I will work the edges to make it LOOK better, but it works just pulled out like this. 1700 miles and still there! The second is a closeup to show where you can attach the springs.

Keep in mind that in the early years of the FB configuration, a twin bed version was not offered. Old Lucy was a 2005 25FB (the first year of the FB) and the was no twin option at that point. I do not know what year the twins started.

Good luck in your search.

Somehow or other, I am not seeing your photos when I review your post on my computer. Yet I am seeing them just fine on the Airforums app on my Android phone.

I cannot explain this discrepancy. The only thing that I can think of is that you are loading your post from another text or image program, and something is not coming through on the computer.

That being said, the screen looks great and will do the job.

Hi Jay,

That's a very nice looking young guy. He's got a really shiny dark coat.

We have looked on the map and can't seem to locate Pole Mountain. Can you give us further information on the location including a road number if that is a Forest Service Road?

Thanks, Brian

Brian, the screen photos come through on my Mac laptop. Are you getting other photos?

I vaguely recall a twin bed option was available in the 2008's, but am not sure.

I seem to be getting all other photos. I suspect that they were uploaded from an outside program and may have created a glitch.

Our 2015 23D built in Sep 2015 #531815 has new furnace cover. Looks like Airstream applied a piece is skin aluminum, probably from the hole for the furnace, to cover the plastic face.

Colonial lacks a source for the bug screens for the furnace as of today as I pulled away from their location towing with the Hensley hitch I had left over from the25FB. So far Mercedes is happy. Semi trucks blowing by with no side movement generated. Another 300 miles to go today.

Brian,we look forward to your new trip report. We are currently sitting about 5 miles from West Glacier. Tomorrow, we pack up and head for Lolo, MT and eventually will drift over to the Oregon coast.

Our plan is to head out with Lucy on Monday or Tuesday. We were first going to head to Oshkosh, but have nixed that for now as the big air show is next weekend. Instead we are going to head to South Dakota and do some exploring there. Then we will head into Wyoming and Colorado for some serious Moosing. From there we will explore Utah, Nevada, and California.

We really loved the Big Horns in WY. Thanks for that tip. Did you ever drive down Crazy Woman Canyon Rd? Fantastic scenery.
