Inverter & converter in 2016 25' International?

We plan on purchasing a new 25' International FB this winter. Does anyone know what brand/model# of inverter & converters Airstream is installing these days? I replaced the stock charger in our 2008 International with a PD4655 & have not purchased a new battery since. I'm thinking if the inverters are the same quality as the converters, I'd ask them to wire our trailer for an inverter, but let me purchase an after market one.

Any info appreciated!

To my knowledge, AS will not customize on the build. A call to Jackson Center, Ohio should answer your questions.

Yeah, they will tell you no. They upgraded in 15 to use PD 3 stage converters. I am unsure about the inverters.

Thanks for your input. I just got a reply from the factory. They are using inverters from from Cheng USA. (they didn't say, but I bet I can guess where these are made.) They are still using the parallax converters. Sooooo, I guess we will see how the Cheng inverter works & replace the stock Parallax converter with a PD 4655. Anyone want a brand new Parallax converter for a reasonable price?

I have a 2015 25' International Signature (back bed) and it has a Parallax 8355 Coverter Charger and a WFCO WF-5100 1000W pure sine wave inverter (distributed by Cheng USA, Inc). The manual references wfcoelectronics.com | wfcoelectronics.com

Hope this helps.

Just plan on installing your own....you definitely want a 3 stage charger to avoid fried batteries. Too bad Airstream won't put a higher quality unit in their product. (BTW, they put the cheapo Chinese stuff in the Classic as well.)

I also have the Parallax 8355 Converter. Actually it works just fine as a power supply. I have a Schumacher multistage charger that I use to charge the batteries when the trailer is at home or plugged in at a campsite if necessary. You can turn the Battery Use switch to "Storage"on the trailer and it will not charge the batteries with the Parallax. I have also used it while Boondocking plugged into a Honda EU2000 to charge the batteries correctly and much faster than either the built in unit or the Honda's charger. It cost me about $125.

Parallax 8335

We have a three week old 2015 25FB and it has a Parallax 8355. If everything goes as per plan we will replace this unit with a PD 4655 tomorrow evening. We intend to document with photographs. Randy at Bestconverter.com was a major help in dialing down the compatibility for the replacement unit.
The reason the Parallax unit has to go is because it is a single stage charger and we have just replaced both the batteries under warranty because they were malfunctioning (possibly due to being on the dealership lot for 5 months). Since we have new batteries we figured we may as well replace the charger at this point.
