25FB converter noise

Does the sound made by the under-the-bed converter fan bother anyone?

Yes - I bought a 2007 with converter problems last fall. The lights would go brown and it made a lot of noise when the fan came on. Few weeks ago I replaced the converter with a Progressive Dynamics upgrade kit. Now the lights are bright but I still hear the fans. A very annoying high pitch. Seems that they make the noise when they are beginning to engage? There must be a way to build these things with silent fans. My computer can do it!

Has anyone replaced these fans or added something to keep them from making noise?

With the AC on I can't hear anything else but depending on the charge cycle on my PD4566 from Bestconverter I sometimes hear the fan or a slight buzzing at times when the AC is not on. I guess just the nature of the beast.
