Singles Meet on 01 June at noon under a tent.

Rich has offered a spot on the schedule as noted above. I posted on that rally thread. I am the point of contact so if you have any questions please let me know.

Oregon in April-
I will be park host for Oregon's Goose Lake State Park for the month of April. You are welcome to stop by anytime. I do not have cell phone service at the park, even though I should have a land line phone. If anyone wants to organize a rally there, let me know.

Can anyone host the 01 June "tent" event in OH?

Hello to all the singles attending the AS event in Jackson OH.
My schedule has changed and would anyone be interest in being the
point of contact person for Rich on the ground for the 01 June "tent" meet?

Let me know so I can pass you info along.

Disappointed I can't be there....

Thanks,

Lin.

Cyn,

Your husband has to think you're single, too.

Sitting on the threshold of retirement; would like to travel with other singles. I live in Virginia; is there a group in this area? Have never been to a rally. This is my third year with my airstream; finally getting comfortable getting out on my own.

Kta, David and Kehaines, hello and welcome.

This is a very slow moving thread, (if you haven't
noticed already )

Anyone care to pick up the ball and run with it is welcome!

Kta, nice split TX and VT. I spend time in Roundtop,TX.

David, how bout a little bit about yourself?

Kehaines, Have you checked for rallies in the rally section of the forums? The rally calendar is a great place to find rallies in your area. The season is winding down though

How bout starting your own singles rally

Michael

When I suggested the June International rally in Du Quoin, the man who has been working on my airstream said, "You sure picked a big one for your first!" It is a straight shot from Richmond on 64. It's I and my westie, Niki. Have been a member at large & not affiliated with a local unit. Work long hours; so, find my peace camping, when I can get away. So thought I would just ask if anyone out there is nearby or going that way in June. It would be nice to know someone when I get there.

What does one do at a rally? Sorry I'm such a novice at this. Karen

You will find the DuQuoin WBCCI International Rally to be an excellent place to learn about your Airstream and Airstreaming. Unlike some of the other venues for the International Rally, everything will be near or on the fairgrounds. DuQuoin is a small town in a very serene area of Southern Illinois. Just be prepared for the heat and humidity . . . this summer was not a good example, but during the Rally time it was in the mid to upper 90s with 85%+ relative humidity. Heat with high humidity will be the word of the day next summer during the International time-frame as well.

During the International Rally, you will find seminars for first-timers, free-wheelers, and any number of product specific seminars offered by manufacturers and vendors.

As a single member of the WBCCI, you are eligible to join the Free Wheelers. The Free Wheelers is an Intra-Club, and has its own activities and meetings at the International Rally. As a member, you can join the group when they caravan onto the rally ground and be parked with the group. The Free Wheelers also have seminars for singles who travel alone that are often attended by a much broader section of the organization.

You didn't mention the year of your coach, but if it is 25 years old or older, you are also eligible for membership in the Vintage Airstream Club. Like the Free Wheelers, the Vintage Airstream Club; and like the Free Wheelers, the Vintage Airstream Club also meets and caravans into the rally site with flags flying as one of the rally events -- and then we are parked together often with the Free Wheelers as nearby neighbors.

I will be at the Rally in my '64 Overlander Land Yacht International parked with the VAC. You will be able to spot my coach by the car parked in front of it - - either my '75 Cadillac Eldorado in Baby Blue or my '07 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible in Bright Green and Tan -- I live less than an hour away so may switch my Cadillac for the Bug after the trailer is parked . . .

Enjoy your new to you coach!

Kevin

airstream singles?

I have been traveling solo in my Airstream since 1995 ('64 Overlander). The Minuet was added to my traveling selections in 2003. The photo below is of me with my Overlander taken in December 2009.

The photo below is of my Minuet with the '75 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible.

The photo below is of the Overlander with the '75 Cadillac Eldorado.

Hopefully one or two more weekend trips before it is time to winterize the coaches and put the Cadillac up on blocks until Spring . .
